I didn't read any of the doomsayer reports on other sites, but i'm willing to bet they are layered in "could be", "possible", "likely", "maybe", and other words liars regularly use. Fox news has used this journalistic loophole to its maximum potential by stating a two minute article and finishing it with "maybe" as the last word.

support for 32-bit apps is "not available in iOS 11." Excellent!

Its not hard to get the iPad and iPhone ready now. Go to Settings -> General -> About -> Applications. Anything on that list is incompatible. I found the apps fall into a few categories...

1. Old apps i no longer use and be removed.
2. Old apps that i can replace with some other app in the app store (which is generally better anyways).
3. Google Earth that i suspect will be updated before the deadline.

Siri is a dumb cluck. I wish they would fix it.

Because people don't want their phones...

1. Blowing up
2. Being banned from use
3. Being forcibly turned off by the manufacturer so that they can't use them
