  • Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride sharing service Didi Chuxing

Seems to me this is less about cars and more about political patronage. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple will be able to sell books and media in China again very soon.
I highly doubt it. The Chinese gov't is concerned about the confluence of a slowing economy, declining power, and growing influence of the middle class. Access to outside media exacerbates the latter two. Their play is to crack down on media. Also, I doubt the Chinese gov't would view Apple taking a large stake in a large and growing startup as positive thing on a whole.

My daughter would jump on this but she says that there is no way she will manually recreate all of her Spotify playlists. If she had a way to automatically export and import them...
I believe there apps that accomplish this

This should be the price for everyone.

Its nuts that music streaming is charging $10 for A SINGLE USER while Neflix offers movies for THREE DEVICES for $8. That is ridiculous.

In order to get real penetration the standard price should be $5 for individual and $8 for family plan.
Apple Music and other streaming services have the full catelog with some exceptions. Netflix on the other hand is comparatively limited - which is ordinal why they're going into content development. Apple Music content is implicitly available forever. Netflix content is often time limited. Users may also listen to a song or album hundreds of times, whereas a show or movies one or a handful of times. I also suspect it costs more for music services to secure the content. Just some thoughts.

I believe it was a horrible mistake to build "The Spaceship" in California where liberal government practices "Government Greed" on a daily basis. Apple should have built the "Spaceship" at the new campus in Austin, Texas. Texas is a much more business friendly state that California will ever be. Building in California was a huge mistake. The Cupertino offices should have been closed and moved to Austin, TX. http://www.wired.com/2012/12/apple-austin/
    Agree 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000%

    Austin would be much better.
    Much better.

Another bone head move by Tim "Edward II" Cook.

This began under Steve. Apple's vision is to have all staff in the same area - with as many under one roof as possible. Also the Bay Area is second to none when it comes to tech talent. There's no controversy here. Just a mayor trying to cash in while running for Assembly.
