  • First look: Apple offers premium power at budget pricing with new iPhone SE

I wish they'd upped the price to $449 and started at 32gb.

The UK cost of £80 to go from 16gb to 64gb is just ridiculous. Especially when the price per gb would only add around £5 at most to the cost of materials.

16gb is just not enough for the average user, I get that Apple wants more money but there is no excuse for their flagship devices to start at 16gb.
Agee with Sog's comments. 16GB wouldn't be enough for me, so I opt for 64, whereas 16 is more than enough for my parents. Same goes for a lot of business users that don't store music, video or pictures. My work issues 16 GB iPhones exclusively. Literally millions of users are fine with 16GB

    its called having a case
You shouldn't be required to have a case to mend a flaw with the device.
I wouldn't characterize a change due to a performance/feature upgrade as a flaw. Also, we don't know that this has any barring on use/performance of the pencil - i suspect none. Lastly, Apple knows the number of cases it sells, without the camera bump. I suspect it applies to most users buying higher end iPads and iPhones.

  • Apple's 9.7-inch 'iPad Pro' to bring flagship glory back to full-size form factor

You guys are delusional about the iPad.

The overwhelming majority of consumers do not care about Smart Keyboard or Apple Pencil or other so called Pro features.
Just like the iPad Pro 12" that garnered maybe a couple million sales from a niche of the tablet market, this 9.7" Pro model will scoop up a handful of holdouts that didn't want a 12" size or couldn't afford the price tag. It will also scoop up a handful of iPad Air 2 upgraders who have had their product for 1.5 years now.

I love MY iPad Pro, but I represent a tiny tiny subset of the market.

You may be right, though the Pro wasn't intended to chase market share. It's to keep and attract users demanding higher specs, new features. With the added pro lines, they may stabilize revenue and margins on a lower volume.

We keep hearing what a success the Surface Pro is. Sales of iPad Pro alone were higher than the entire Surface line last quarter. This is likely in part due to it being a device and the holiday season. Still I think Apple has the right approach. They seem to do best when focused on the premium end of the market. Let Android and Amazon sell thier cheap tablets. MS and Apple will focus on the premium side where the profits are.

    LOL.

but, but, but, but, Apple Watch is a failure.....only sold 12 million units in its first year.....

Another multi-billion loss for Google.  Add this to the Motorola disaster and soon to be Nest disaster.
Certainly doesn't look good to do these big splashy aquisitions only to sell them off a few years later, especially for management. I also wonder if companies may consider when Google comes calling. Probably not for most, as money talks, still it certainly won't help.
