  • Apple working with Consumer Reports on MacBook Pro battery findings, says Phil Schiller

I'm not sure what field tests Apple has done, but there are tons or reports/complaints of poor battery life. it's pretty clear that there is an issue with the machines, whether it's software or hardware based is still up for debate. Either way I'm sticking with my Mid-2011 MacBook air. I still get 3 hours of battery life on it, which is just as good as half the people are getting with their brand new MacBook Pros. I really can't disagree with Consumer Reports - I wouldn't advise buying one of these either.
What field tests Apple has done are mentioned in the footnote #2 in Tech Specs section of Apple's product pages.

Also, if you can still do well with your Mid-2011 Macbook Air, the new Macbook Pros are not for you. The substitute of Macbook Air is the Retina Macbook, not Macbook Pro. Your comments are welcome, however...

  • MacBook Pro fails to earn Consumer Reports recommendation for first time

They downloaded 10 predefined web pages then what? What did they do with those pages until the computer shuts down? Ten pages until the computer shuts down means that they downloaded the same pages again and again in a loop, kicking in everytime those js based crappy trackers and iframes, there is no other explanation... Is that a test?

  • Next-gen Apple Watch might thin down by moving haptic motor to wristband

Apple is too obsessed with making their devices thinner and lighter.  They are overly focused on improving hardware instead of focusing on software and the user experience they were once known for.  Fantastic hasinsinksrdware is useless if the software experience doesn't match up to it.
Thinner and lighter is a requirement to overcome the heat barrier. A thick computer would retain much more heat. The only thing Apple is obsessed with is the heat, not thinness or lightness. The unusual thickness of the Watch is a proof of this. If Apple were not interested in improved user experience, they would omit the vibration and would make the Watch thinner. Our gain is the improved user experience at the expense of making the Watch thicker.

Clearly, physics isn't your strength. Here's a math question for you: What takes longer to bring to a boil, if you have a 2000W heatcoil: 1 gallon of water or 10 gallons of water?
Computers don't have heatcoils but heatsinks and fans. 1 gallon of computer cools down much faster than 10 gallons of computer. It is the cool down time that matters, not the heat-up time.

I mean from an aesthetic point of view.
Why do you care so much about what the phone looks like when it is OFF?  Don't you look at the screen?

Since when is the shape of the phone anything important?  It's not the package, it's the contents!
Since it slips from your hand and drops on the concrete. This is the package that defines the contents, and the usability that defines the package. This doesn't mean aesthetics necessarily. The protruding camera and the horrible plastic bands of the 6 series have nothing to do with aesthetics, or aesthetics has a different meaning in industrial design compared to layman's understanding.

I am not sure I need an edge to edge design...I know years ago this was the dream by some...I was looking at my 7 plus today and love it. Trying to figure out the benefit of edge to edge...I can't see one.
Edge to edge can't be. The experiment is there: Xiaomi MiMix. They had to keep one of the bezels to place the front camera. So at least one bezel is required. The second bezel too is required for gaming in landscape mode. Philippe Starck has completely ignored the gamers in his avant-garde design. One cannot play games with that thing, kids will hate it.
