  • Apple Vision Pro finally on sale outside the US

It baffles me that customers outside U.S. went for it despite it costing $500 more than the States. Apple product hype is no joke 😲
One of the reasons for the (much) higher cost in Europe (aside from the exchange rate) is that the price includes sales tax or VAT which is on average 20%. The base price of $3499 does not include sales tax which on average is much less in the states than most places worldwide. Hong Kong, however, which has no sales tax sells it for a cheaper price than for example NY which has almost 9% sales tax. So while technically the US is the cheapest, one can find it cheaper than most places in the US, elsewhere.

  • Stolen Device Protection to thwart iPhone thieves with passcodes with time delay

I’m not sure why this is necessary if you have two factor authentication set up.  Even if they get into the phone they would need the code sent to a trusted device.  No?

What if the iPhone IS the trusted device?

This has got to be the fastest install of any OS I have ever installed!!! On a iMac 24 M1 running Ventura, it literally took less than 10 minutes….!

  • iPhone must use USB-C by 2024, says EU law

I am trying to discern wether the ruling applies to the side of the cable that attaches to the phone, the charger, or both. If it is the side that attaches to the charger, I don’t see it being much of a problem since most apple cables have usb-c on one side at least. Of course, my car uses USB-A to charge and connect to CarPlay so a USB-A cable is and will definitely be needed. If it is the side that connects to the phone, then I find it disturbing that they can mandate what type of port is required to be present on a device. So if USB-D is released and is smaller, better and faster than USB-C, will companies not be allowed to deploy it until a new law is passed which permits them to use it? Idiots.

Um ... with these new Update/changes, How do you import a photo from the camera roll?!!

im generally not an idiot and don’t give up easy, but I just can’t find it. Any help would be much appreciated!

    thanks!

Yeah...good point. I’m assuming through the photo app itself.

Edit: found it! Click on the plus sign on the top right. Choose an empty canvas. Once chosen then you click again on the plus sign on the top right and you can import from the Camera roll. A bit cumbersome I admit. Maybe there’s an easier way?
