Black Lives Matter activists say FBI fight to break iPhone encryption threatens civil liberties
I totally abhor the police brutality we have recently seen evidenced upon black folks both innocent and possibly guilty. Much of the violence, injury and death has been uncalled for based on videos I've seen.
But I wish the BLM movement would transition their story to an All Lives Matter message.
While I wasn't pleased with their appearance in front of the Apple Store in NY when Apple supporters came out against the FBI, thinking then that BLM was just trying to co-opt a photo opportunity, I'm glad that they filed their amicus brief in support of Apple. -
FBI Director James Comey seeks to reassure Congress that Apple fight is not about precedent
Comey:
"Its not a trailblazer case.
Its not about precedent.
Its about how we govern ourselves."
On this issue, Dir. Comey is a disingenuous liar.
We we govern ourselves by determining the nuances of law and setting precedent.
Any case that defines nuances and sets precedent is, by definition, a trailblazer.
Q.E.D., in this issue, Dir. Comey is a disingenuous liar.

Munster: Apple likely to fold VR into 'Made for iPhone' program within 2 years
Hope they do a better job with integrating these devices into MFi than they did with hearing aids.
My my mom, 83 and on a fixed pension, bought an iPhone 6 and trialed two different MFi hearing aid brands before settling on ReSound Linx2 6 months ago (the other was Starkey's model.)
Since then, she has had continuous problems with connectivity.
We we think the iPhone isn't able to manage the Bluetooth connection to her Apple Watch and hearing aid (previously she had two Tiles installed but we de activated those to some small improvement) and we unpaired the hearing aid last week (the control panel function to select speaker was tenuous, given each time the BT dropped and reconnected, it went to the aid with its in and out connectivity.)
Definitely not ready for prime time.
