Is it safe to leave your Mac plugged in and always on?
AppleInsider said:It's generally considered a good idea to restart your Mac every now and then. Some programs -- particularly those are that poorly written -- can have memory leaks that cause performance issues over time. Single-bit errors in RAM can also creep in when your Mac isn't rebooted. A large percentage of these single-bit errors are induced by ionizing radiation from cosmic sources, and they accumulate with time.
A quick reboot will generally mitigate these admittedly minor issues.

iPad with titanium chassis reportedly on the horizon
radarthekat said:I’d vote not to employ a strategic metal in a consumer product. Unless someone has recently found a rich supply of Titanium ore somewhere in a friendly country.

T-Mobile data breach hit 47.8 million accounts, most not current customers
AppleInsider said:"[We] have now been able to confirm that the data stolen from our systems did include some personal information," say the company. "Some of the data accessed did include customers' first and last names, date of birth, SSN, and driver's license/ID information for a subset of current and former postpay customers and prospective T-Mobile customers."
T-Mobile repeatedly stresses that it has "no indication that the data... included any customer financial information, credit card information, debit or other payment information."

Users lobby 1Password to abandon new Electron version
Jayaigh said:chadbag said:Honest question: What does something like 1password offer me above what I get for free with the keychain IF I don’t care about cross platform (meaning outside of Apple) use? I don’t care about android or windows.I’m happily just using KeyChain which covers me on macOS, iOS, iPad, etc.
There are quite a few websites where Keychain won't fill in passwords. 1Password can force the fields to be filled in. At least it did way back when. I stopped using it when they went to subscriptions.

New York's updated Excelsior vaccine passport drops Apple Wallet support
patchythepirate said:How are people just blindly accepting these vaccine passports? How is it that so few even question something that is so obviously absurd? The fact that they don't accommodate for natural immunity, which is *superior* to the vaccine 'immunity,' should be a clear indication that we're being manipulated. Not to mention the fact that they make no sense, since people 'vaccinated' with these gene modifying agents can still catch and spread covid. It's shocking how many people are accepting these 'passports' as somehow justifiable.
