  • More power with less: Apple's A13 Bionic is faster and more power efficient

What I don’t understand is why the Pros are gaining so much hours of extra battery life, while the iPhone 11 is only gaining 1 hour. It’s the same A13 SOC right?
Or is the smartness of regulating power requirements a ‘pro’ feature that’s not built into the non-pro iPhone 11?
Or are there other reasons for the Pros gaining more hours of battery life? Like an optimised screen (like smart refresh rates), that Apple didn’t talk about?
    More place for bigger battery?
It indeed seems like the reason. According to these articles: http://bit.ly/2I4JN9w and bit.ly/2UMrbQY the Pros are quite larger and heavier than the XS of last year. While the XR was already quite heavier and larger last year.

  • Analysts impressed with Services & iPhone 11 pricing, less on iPhone 11 Pro

Rosenblatt saying ATV+ won’t make much of a difference is strange: the attractive price can potentially lure a significant part of the 1.5 billion Apple users into the world of paid subscription tv services.
No matter how you put it: that IS a big thing, especially regarding the free 1 year (family!) subscription with the purchase of a new Apple device. Quite a potential: 1 addicted family member is enough.

Wonder if Apple will come up with a faster 4K ATV. Would fit in nicely with Apple Arcade, so I expected it in this event.
But they might as well launch it silently: it wouldn’t not be such a big thing.
Not launching a faster ATV is holding me from upgrading my ATV 4.

  • Review: The Doxie Go SE portable scanner will help you organize your life

What I miss in this review, is a mention of the quality of the scans. Are they REALLY better than the Scanbot app on my XS Max?
Especially scanning photos should be better than with the iPhone, otherwise there’d be no use for a separate scanner...
Did you test the difference in quality?

  • Editorial: As Apple plays the telephone game, analysts hear something else entirely

Apple is a high volume innovator in and beyond phones. Google and Microsoft are not.

I tend to agree. However, regarding data usage and number crunching, I think Google is an innovator, and that should be noted. Although I like navigating with Apple Maps (I seem to miss more turns when navigating with Google Maps than with Apple Maps, just because I find Apple Maps easier on the eyes), Apple does too little with the data that that should have by now: maps are still way less detailed than Google Maps, and Apple does not seem to advance in this area, which is in fact the Artificial Intelligence area. Interesting read on this: https://www.justinobeirne.com/google-maps-moat

Same goes for Siri; also Ai. I think Ai is the next big thing, and I’m sure Apple will jump that wagon too (of course is already jumping it), but until now Google is way ahead of Apple in this area.

So business wise this article is spot on, but for the long run, Apple should realise it’s about time to do something with the enormous amount of data they must have gathered by now, to make Siri, Maps and other smart functions better. Even though it’s harder using that data, while keeping privacy standards high at the same time.
