Here are all the big changes to Apple Maps from 2017 through 2019
indieshack said:I looked again at maps recently after being taken to the wrong location by it a few years ago. I found it's turn-by-turn instructions inferior to Google's - in a complex freeway crossover its instructions weren't given enough in advance or clearly enough, I ended up ignoring it. Regardless of the fanboy support in this thread, while I'm certain its overall mapping data has improved and is improving tremendously, it still has a big black eye from Tim Cook essentially telling people four (or five or six?) years ago to ignore Maps and use Google's app. Apple doesn't do services very well. -
iPhone shipments steady amid contracting global smartphone market in recession

People slam Apple for having sales that are the same as last year while the rest of the industry is seeing a decline?
And look at Samsung. A 10 million decline in sales yet their stock doesn't get punished like Apple. Unbelievable.
I think AppleInsider does the best job of anyone being fair about Apple. Not negative just for the sake of clicks, but giving criticism when necessary. At the same time, they don’t hesitate to praise Apple. The haters really, really hate that. As if you are somehow unable to be balanced if you’re willing to say that Apple did something right. I find AI’s approach so refreshing. -
Initial 2018 MacBook Air benchmarks show modest improvement over 2017 MacBook
ascii said:The new Macbook Air is not very compelling honestly. As the Zone of Tech guy pointed out, it's only a little bit more for the 13" Macbook Pro which is better on nearly every metric. -

Not to mention Intel will hit back and it's still the leader in performance but Apple is getting there. I just don't think it'll have an impact on PCs at all. Yes, Apple may transition over to their own chips and that would be a loss for Intel and the money they make with the partnership but Apple wouldn't begin to sell processors to the masses... They've always been closed, it would be odd to start now.
