Apple iPhone shipments declined 30% in Q1, now in third place behind Samsung and Huawei
The eye watering price of iPhones and Macbooks (especially with decent storage capacity) must be putting people off. Apple should realise that those of us at the cutting edge typically pass our old devices down to family and friends, many of whom are getting an Apple device for the first time. This helps spread the word and gives Apple additional customers who may sign up for their services. -

'iPhone 5G' in late 2020 will drive 200 million sales for Apple, says Ming-Chi Kuo
I was surprised that iPhone XS sales were so high given the high cost as it offered few real tangible benefits to most customers but I think many are on a 2-year phone contract (very common in the UK at least).
I wonder what Apple can offer users to entice them to upgrade to a new iPhone in 2019 knowing that a 5G iPhone will arrive in 2020. -
2019 iPhone predicted to have triple-lens camera with super-wide lens, improved selfie cam...
Thanks all, for the interesting comments.
I’m still astonished at the quality we all get from smartphone cameras. It’s just stunning compared with what most of us could achieve with a good SLR 20 years ago. As a keen amateur I’d often be disappointed with poor exposure or blurred images on old SLRs which are extremely rare with modern smart phones. (Of course modern SLRs are even more impressive).
I agree that what most of us crave is a good telephoto lens though. 2x isn’t enough and I’m not excited about wide angle when I can use Panorama mode for the rare times I’d use the wide camera.
The Oppo camera in the video above with 10x zoom does look very impressive. -
