Apple on iPhone 15 Pro: 'The best game console is the one you have with you'
I think many people feel Apple doesn't take gaming seriously due to the lack of vision in addressing the enthusiast and AAA game market. Ok fair enough, some room for improvement there. But... casual gaming market is pretty much owned by iOS and Android and it generates substantial profits for Apple.
As an old gamer with limited time to game I tend to engage with casual spur of the moment games and I sense that maybe Apple would want to consider some first party titles aiming a bit higher than the current Arcade offering which feels like warmed up left overs from a bygone era.
Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have proven that first party titles are helpful in attracting mindshare and does not discourage the growth of a vibrant ecosystem of publishers on their platform.
Apple Arcade+ launch in conjunction with a souped up Apple TV with the hardware raytracing oomph from an M3 derivative and the iPhone 15 Pro could set the scene for a 4th major platform of gaming (if ignoring Steam for a moment). Question is if it is possible to squeeze M3 into a price point that works for Apple TV launch.
To note is that the Vision Pro's future non-Pro sibling may help accelerate Apple eco system gaming, but that feels quite some years out.
Next gen consoles are likely going ARM for their instruction ets and likely will also have substantial machine learning accelerators to support GPT powered NPC bots as illustrated in some epic research papers lately.
Apple TV+ is doing well and proves Apple can do content and media strategy. However they are gunning for a smaller slice of revenge than gaming. Much smaller.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 gains S9 chip, brighter screen, and new gesture
Evil Apple. I was hoping there would not be an upgraded Ultra this year.
Offline Siri is a game changer for me and very helpful indeed. May actually be enough for me to sell my furniture and upgrade from my Ultra to Ultra 2.
That and precision finder for iPhone. Life is too short to run around trying to find your phone.
The profile ration of UW chips in the Apple devices makes them local ecosystem aware in a much better way than before. I think this will lead to a many more features and services coming out in the coming years.

iPhone 15 Pro Max lands with 5x optical zoom, faster USB-C
Not surprised about the spatial video feature as i called that one out as very likely in other threads on this forum.
Overall this is year is a clear positioning year for Apple to rejig the product mix into a new hierarchy. This means that some of the upgrades will feel less wow and more oh.
Raytracing acceleration is insanely cool on a phone and i am wondering if the USB3 speed will enable the iPhone to drive a 4K UHD TV which could enable a Nintendo Switch like experience for iPhone users - from mobile to TV screen with external Bluetooth controllers. Is Apple maybe gunning for Nintendo here? Next year this tech may drop down to the base iPhone model and thus the tech is mainstream.
For me the 15 Pro Max is a no brainer despite already being on 14 Pro Max.
Camera upgrades are good. I keep messing up the portraits when taking pictures of targets that are not very still.. shutter speed improvements will be magic for me as will improved low light photos. Try taking portraits of kids in low light conditions.
