  • Privacy not absolute: US among consortium of nations calling for encryption back doors

Crap, I am so pissed off.  They already have access to our Twitter, FB, Google, iCloud data and access to location data.  What more do they want???
Emh...everything else they don't have access to? Isn't that clear?

  • Apple Watch Pride face is blocked in Russia by watchOS 5

The amount of people that are upset over this shows just how well propaganda works. Just be happy you have freedom over here in the States. Russia is perfectly fine without pride watch faces and bands.

Dude, you don't need to say "My personal opinion that is protected by the first amendment", because it is recognized here anyway. Although, admins do have the right to remove your post, since this website is not run by the gov-t, but by a private enterprise, and the first amendment is not applicable in this case.

  • Apple Watch Pride face is blocked in Russia by watchOS 5

It’s a watch Face , not a cross on your forehead. Why is this news?
Because it's remarkable first that a rainbow watch face is not allowed in Russia, and second that Apple went along with Putin's order to pretend homosexuals don't exist in his country.
remarkable? During USSR era, homosexuality was punishable by prison time (and I don't mean by couple of days in jail). Still bad, tho, but it is Russian, so what did you expect.

    Is this a joke?
Hardly. It's an exceptionally secure way of authenticating your account. I use my Yibikey a couple times a week.
Could this command higher ad revenues for 'authenticated' if 'anonymized' user data...?
    Nope.
It doesn't log anything, nor does it do anything other than authenticate your user credentials. Far more secure than passwords. Instead of the two-factor authentication you might be using now which generally requires a password and entering a texted security code which bad actors might see/use, this is a much stronger hardware-based solution. No physical key, no account access.

This explains it better than I can:

Anonymized highly protected users spells doom to Google's business model. Why would they want to do that, unless they thought of the ways to identify and track you better?

  • Purported first-generation iPhone prototypes hit eBay in suspect auctions

These prototypes must be relatively useless. What would a person do with them? Display them on a coffee table or something? It's amazing people are willing to pay a lot of money for such old tech. I'm not a collector so it's hard for me to understand unless each auction over the years can bring an even higher price for the prototype.
Nothing. It is just a collectible item, at this point.
