A MacBook Pro design refresh is probably years away
Chris_Pelham said:I don't really need the MacBook Pro to be less bulky per se, and not at the expense of the speakers or functionality, but weight reductions are always welcome. The current MacBook Air is a dream for what it is. I'm always surprised by how light it feels. The only improvement I'd reasonably ask for is another Thunderbolt port on the other side for extra convenience. -

Wedbush raises Apple price target to $240 after impressive iPhone 15 event
twolf2919 said:Impressive event? I can’t recall a more boring iPhone introduction in recent memory. The only interesting thing I saw was the possibility of a good trade-in value for my old iPhone. In general, I believe Wedbush is trying to manipulate the market into following its outlandishly bullish AAPL recommendations to its clients. Why else pronounce a coming “super cycle” of upgrades for a phone with no “super” new features? Why would there be more pent up demand for it vs any previous year? -
Apple accessories set for rapid Lighting to USB-C shift
rob53 said:This really sucks because USB-C connectors are known to not stay connected. Lightning is just fine for phones, especially because this is a really good connector that actually stays connected. I continue to have issues with USB-C cables staying connected to external storage and my iMac. The connection keeps dropping, even after I tape the connector to the SSD enclosure. Move it a tiny bit and it disconnects. I've never had this problem with Lightning except when the cable has been damaged. It really upsets me that an inferior "standard" is being forced on Apple. Intel has never provided the computer market with a good connector. -
New MacBook Air predicted to have 'marginally faster' Apple Silicon M2 processor
Truth here is that MagSafe is appropriate for the current MBA line as many users play with Medium load apps like photoshop. Probably the biggest target demographic of the MBA line is students, and they will forget to charge overnight and always bring a charger and MagSafe will prevent many bad trip wire situations.
