  • How Apple has steadily been dropping the 'i' from its devices for over a decade

This kind of seems like a fake headline to me. The headline makes it seem like Apple changed the name of  an existing product. Also, with the examples he gave, Apple tried to get the “i” and couldn’t. If they could have gotten it, they would have.

  • Apple and Google's cross-platform anti-stalking tracker standard arrives in iOS 17.5

This blows, even if they’re not meant for it, most people use these as theft protection
I completely agree. I don't want trackers to be used maliciously but it would also be nice to use them for theft prevention.

  • More doctors are embracing Apple Vision Pro for precision 'keyhole' surgeries

is vision pro certified with those procedures, of course, NOOO, cheap marketing,
I’m not sure why you are saying “cheap marketing”. If the stories are real, then the stories are real. There is no good reason to not let people know how the devices are used in the real world situations. These anecdotes may very well inform Apple on how they could improve future versions.

There is a company called Active that makes pressure washers. A lot of people started using these pressure washers for detailing cars, which is not what the company was expecting. They started hearing feedback from a lot of different customers which the company incorporated into their Active 2.0 product.

I’m sure Apple probably didn’t anticipate surgeons using the Apple Vision Pro, but these anecdotes might inform Apple engineers about how to make the product better for that purpose. I would assume that user anecdotes also had a lot to do with the design of the WATCH ULTRA.

  • At a crossroads to the future of computing: choosing between Apple Vision Pro and iPad Pro...

The title of this article is exactly what I was thinking. At some point I’m expecting Apple Vision Pro to replace iPad Pro for me, but not today. I very frequently find my left hand holding on to the left edge of my iPad Pro while it’s attached to my Magic Keyboard. In order to comment on this article, I had to sign in on the site, which means I had to lower down my left hand in order for FaceID to work. The main reason why I ordered a new iPad Pro is for the new camera placement, otherwise I would have held off.

I still haven’t ordered an Apple Vision Pro and I think the main sticking point is the battery. I want to see what the next generation looks like and go from there. Based on the way I use iPad, I think Apple Vision Pro could very well replace my iPad. I never bought into the idea that my iPad could replace my computer and I never bought into the idea that an iPad is a computer. Your definition may be different, but my definition of computer requires a file system. If it doesn’t have a file system, then it’s not a computer in my opinion.

  • Flagship iPad head-to-head -- M4 iPad Pro vs M2 iPad Pro compared

A big reason why I’m upgrading is for the camera placement. I never use my iPad in portrait mode and my hand sometimes gets in the way of FaceID which I find frustrating. The lighter and thinner aspect is also nice. I probably won’t notice any difference in the processor.
