  • Apple patched an iOS lock screen bypass without crediting its discovery

As the article says, the researcher did not report the bug to Apple but published the exploit on social media. Now he wants recognition and compensation? Fuck him.
It looks like just about everyone who has commented so far has the same opinion about this guy. However, the article  doesn’t state that he was looking for either compensation or credit. Maybe he didn’t do through the Bug Bounty Program because he didn’t want to be disappointed. Maybe he was just trying to be a “Good Samaritan “ and not expecting credit.

  • Australia bank CEO mocks Apple's claim of being pro-competition

That’s pretty rich coming from the CEO of one of the big four banks.

"It is analogous to imagine a world today where, on your Apple phone, the only person that could determine which carrier you used is Apple," he continued.

I don’t think that is a meaningful analogy. Besides, I seem to remember certain banks wanting to collude in not adopting Apple Pay and force customers to only use their own version, which of course wasn’t as good.
There were a couple different ones, but the only one I can think of right now is CurrentC. The market spoke and it crashed and burned. It’s a ridiculous analogy.
No, you are thinking of something else. Current C was a bunch of retailers in the U.S. getting together and forming a competitor to Apple Pay and it was headed by Walmart and Best Buy. Japhey was referring to something that was going on specifically in Australia where the big banks were trying to prevent Apple Pay from being used in that country.

  • Compared: iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max vs iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max

I feel so much happier now that the Pro and Pro Max have all of the same features and the only difference is the physical size. I felt so disappointed last year because I wanted all of the best features, but on a smaller phone. I’m also glad that the optical zoom is finally a full 3X.

  • Germany wants Apple to offer iPhone updates and parts for 7 years

Well at least this idea isn’t as bad as the third party App Store idea, where you would have viruses and and bad apps harming consumers. Because without the Walled Garden, how could Apple differentiate themselves from Android Devices. Android phones already look just like iPhones and Apple can’t do anything about it.

Anyone ask BlackBerry? Yeah it’s Canadian but still - that’s their bread and butter.
Reading your first sentence, I started laughing. Then I saw your second sentence and realized that you weren’t joking. I wasn’t sure that BlackBerry was even still in business. I know that they haven’t produced their own Operating System since 2015 and I’m not sure if they’ve had any new products at all since 2018.
