View from a far, a bit over the top I know but... enjoy! ---

90% only use Apple earbuds anyways, don't need a 3.5 mm jack --- piss on the other 10%(and all there existing hardware and plus the can buy the special adapter for $$)

90% of the time users don't charge their battery while listening to music --- piss on the other 10% that need to

90% only need x amount of much battery life anyways --- piss on the other 10% that do

90% will figure out non-schemorphic(sp) interface--- piss on the other 10% that cant figure everything out

90% don't use Pro software anyways --- piss on the 10% that do (and by the way are usually the biggest free 1%'ers cheerleaders for Apple)

90% only need (fill in the blank) ... piss on the other 10%

My recollection of the old Apple was that they were fairly uncompromising in regards to the user experience, pissing off 10% was not acceptable too often.

We now seem to have a steam roll of '90/10 compromises' for the user where in some manner every one gets --- 'pissed on'!.

You mean the old Apple that had hardly any customer base and made extremely niche products that worked ONLY for the 10% and pissed off the other 90%? To this day people still think you can't open an Excel file on a Mac.

  • Apple supplier Qorvo guides high for Sept. quarter, suggesting strong 'iPhone 7' orders

I think any projections are highly contingent on how the the audio jack issue plays out.

If the audio jack rumors are true, then Apple had better have an incredibly compelling argument for why removing that jack is good for users. I want to believe that they will have such an argument... but if they don't, it will be a disaster.
No one will even notice, let alone care. Do you really not understand the market at all? Let me explain it to you then.

99.9% of iPhone buyers, that use headphones to listen to music on their iPhone, use the EarPods that ship with them. Apple will continue to ship, people will continue to use, life will continue uninterrupted.

The only people that think this even matters are the fringe of the fringe, who overpaid for expensive analog headphones, that don't sound any better than cheap analog headphones and don't want to acknowledge that such tech is dead, and they are among the only people dumb enough to spend money on keeping that business alive.

All of the profits in the current headphone industry are in wireless headphones. Why do you think that is? There is no market left for overpriced wired analog headphones.

Oh and lets not forget, the 100 different times Apple has abandoned a dead legacy technology that "is on every existing device in the world", which is "sure to be a disaster", and of course is not a disaster at all, the boldness of it gets them nothing but free press and more sales, and then within a year the tech they abandoned is dead and the rest of world is rushing to catch up.

But no, please...go on about removing the headphone jack is a disaster. It will make for hilarious reflection down the road.

  • Questionable parts leak revives claims of space black 'iPhone 7'

A lot of people are interested in a black iPhone. Apple has been adding a new color or finish of some kind every year. This is the first part leak to corroborate the black color rumor.
I'd say likelihood is high. It will go a long way to offset the lack of other dramatic physical changes that are apparently necessary to keep dopamine levels up.

  • New 'Hey Siri' website indexes successful voice queries for Apple's Siri

My biggest problem with Siri is that it is FAR too niche in what it can/cannot do. It can do MOST basic tasks, but not all basic tasks. It can also do extremely complicated tasks that Apple has put a lot of effort into making possible...but no person would ever think to ask Siri to do such complicated things, when it fails to do such simple things.

Basic things Siri cannot do, which are inexplicable:

    -Control AppleTV.
-Set a Find Friends leave/arrive alert.
-Search email with filters such as date, sender.

I'm talking basic tasks that require no user oversight. Things you can do, even deep within Apps, that just a series of dependable taps to accomplish should always be possible with Siri.
