  • Two-year probe of Apple's alleged anti-competitive behavior shut down by Canadian governme...

What I would like to see from all governments is the courage to call Cook and Apple on farming out production to the East and paying them a subsistence income, if that, in slave labour working conditions. Unless that is changed I can't buy Apple products as I refuse to be complicit. Have a look at this documentary: www.cbc.ca/passionateeye/m/episodes/apples-broken-promises .
You obviously no nothing about what you're talking about. Western companies like Nike and Apple have done more for those countries than anyone in terms of producing jobs. Do some research and not believe everything at face value that some hippy told you at some point.

  • US regulators ask smartphone makers to implement function-limited 'driver mode'

Yes, exactly what we need, more regulations and more government buerocrats to suck up tax dollars to make sure the regulations are being followed. You can't stop texting and driving any more than you can't stop drinking and driving without infringing on personal freedoms. The best way to cut down on this is to just pull over people for erratic and distracted  driving. Whether it's swerving because you've had too much to drink, yelling at the kids in the back seat, or texting and driving it's all the same! Not saying you have to get a ticket every time, but we need to stop putting so much emphasis on only drunk driving or holding the cell phone up to your ear.

  • Most expensive in-app purchase ever: Apple Pay used to buy $1 million Aston Martin

That's one heck of a high limit on his credit card!
Almost certainly an AmEx or similar charge card. Cards used for high-value purchases like this have no preset limit, but carry no revolving balance. You have to pay them in full. The idea is to give you the convenience of paying up front like a credit card, instead of having to wait a week while investments are sold and funds shuffle around. I have accounts at a few investment banks, and they typically take two or three business days to complete transfers. Some make the funds available ahead of their actual clearing, but that's a little like a check. It can fail very badly if the stock you're trying to sell tanks overnight.
The AmEx black card for sure. No limit, but I think you are required to spend at least $200,000 a year on it to have it. First person to get one was Jerry Seinfeld.

  • Apple's new Japan R&D center to build 'very different' artificial intelligence tech, Tim Cook says

Aren't Apple and IBM supposed to be partners? Why don't they just use Watson?

  • French company sues Apple over incomplete HTML5 support on iOS, macOS Safari

This is typical behavior of socialists. They feel like they deserve something so they sic the government on people and companies to force them at gunpoint to pay more in taxes or follow certain laws to create in their minds an "even" playing field rather than compete

What they don't realize is these "standards" are created by a bunch of people looking for a monopoly on said "standards". Everything in this world revolves around money and HTML5 and the group that came up with it as a standard are no different.
