Apple adds 100 emoji to latest iOS 10 beta, promotes diversity and gender equality
Shame on you Apple. Replacing the gun with a squirt gun is clearly a shot at us gun owners. The battle over the 2nd Amendment is not only political but cultural. The goal is to make the idea of a gun so taboo that it gives people the power to shame you for wanting to even own one. In other words, you can't be a person of progress if you still believe in the 2nd Amendment. Instead of teaching gun education they teach fear of the gun, to a generation of kids far removed from the idea and essence of what the 2nd Amendment is about. Thus, they don't even question any attempts to destroy it. I guess all the knife and sword emojis are ok though. -
Apple shuttlebus drivers vote in favor of first contract after unionization
spice-boy said:Companies which reap in billions of $ per quarter, super inflate housing and other cost of living expenses must be willing to pay for workers in that eco-system a fair living wage. Cities like New York and SF are insanely expensive and many many non white collar workers pay 60-70% of the income to rent. Unions were / are fundamental in creating a middle class, as union's power dissolved over the past 3 decades so have good blue collar wages and a growing middle class. This is a small victory but hopefully in this time of extreme division of wealth people will embrace the unions again as a tool to bring back living wages. -
