Makes sense to me to have an X line of processors for the Pro line. Where simply more cores and thus more thermal power is needed. Followed by a new M2 later for the mass  market (Air and MacBook and iMac) with less cores and just less power hungry due to smaller production process. Followed again by a M2X for the pros. 

I always wondered why they did not put the „Mac“ inside the base of an iMac stand in form of a Mac mini and simply produce the 24 inch screen only. 

Main reason for 120hz is that movies got historically recorded at 24Fps and US TV movies/shows were recorded at 30fps. 
(US Television Sets and power are 60HZ)
 meaning 120 Hz is the lowest frequency that can show both without interpolating frames. Unfortunately most other countries use 25/50 for tv. 

These statements from VW CEO are very similar to what the CEOs of Nokia, Blackberry and Microsoft said about the iPhone when it was unveiled in 2007. time will tell if VW will be as forgotten as Nokia and Blackberry. 

Could it be that all M1 come with 16GB and only half is activated in software? The cost difference in  producing  two versions is probably negligible.
