  • 'Fortnite' CEO thought he'd beat Apple in weeks, not years

I'll say it again, Steam, SteamOS, and SteamBoxes...  Steam SEEMS to have no problem building their own to compete with Apple, an online STORE EVEN!  But yet Apple makes it "impossible compete..."

    HORSE $#!+
Epic's attempts to compete with Steam are hilarious. They've engaged in every anti-competitive practice going (exclusivity periods for new games, free games, run as a $2 billion loss leader) and yet Steam continues to dominate. Gamers will never trust Epic in the way they do Valve.

I'm surprised that they haven't tried to sue Valve.

  • 'Total War: Rome II' marches back to Apple Silicon Macs

This is my favourite of the Total War games: It strikes a good balance between accessibility and complexity, it's got a tonne of content and I love the setting.

It ran just fine on my old Intel Mac. I'll have to give it a re-download!

  • Trump gives Apple a giant break with wide-ranging tariff exemptions

As I’ve been saying since before this whole thing happened.
So pray tell why he didn’t just exempt smartphones, computers, etc., in the first place? I can only think of two reasons, myself. Impulsive stupidity, and/or stock manipulation for the purpose of insider trading.  Have you got a better explanation?
As a Brit, this all reminds me of Brexit. The people in favour of tariffs are the ones who least understand their impact. The exemptions are being announced now because Trump didn't believe that the tariffs would noticeably drive up the price of iPhones.

This art of the deal looks very similar to "Oh shit, we didn't think of that" from where I'm sitting.

Apple can add and will I add if necessary a tariff surcharge in big bold letters to iPhone in September so the whole world can def see it and thank Trump for it.
More EU cars (Volvo, Mercedes, BMW) are sold in the US than any other place in the world - including the EU .... and that is their own market.  Mainly because the US has a higher gross income per capital that can afford those types of cars.  But, the secondary issue is that US car manufacturers cannot sell in the EU because the tariff tax on those imports are so high, very very few can afford a US made car.  They, instead, purchase an EU made car.  Likewise in the Arab states - they have placed a tariff so high on US cars and zero on Japanese cars - most drive Toyotas and not Fords.  Good for them ... bad for us.  It is unfair and it has to stop.
Very few people in Europe want a US-made car regardless of tariffs. They have a reputation for being ugly, inefficient and poorly engineered.

If US manufacturers made a desirable product, they would sell in the EU just fine. Telsa was doing very well before Musk outed himself as a deranged loser.
