Apple caves, EU developers will be able to sell apps directly from their websites
chelgrian said:Yes it will be a security disaster of the EUs own making. You will get exactly the malware situation that exists on non-iOS platforms. Apparently the EU commission neither understand nor care.
It's not just EU citizens who will lose someone will workout how to make the hooks to install stuff work on phones outside the EU and we'll have a wave of malware based on that.
Apple should have pulled out of the EU entirely rather than cave to a law essentially written specifically to destroy Apple's business model. -
M3 MacBook Air review: The ideal Mac laptop for Intel hold-outs
jcc90266 said:I have the Early 2020 Intel i3 and am ready to make the upgrade. I use it for work, video editing and also DJ using Serato DJ Pro so some extra power will be welcome. Wondering anyone's thoughts on getting the M2 with upgraded RAM to 16gb or going with the M3 with the 8gb standard RAM. -
New M3 MacBook Air arrives with faster Wi-Fi and better performance
Rogue01 said:Hilarious that the 'new' MacBook Air with the same M3 chip as the MacBook Pro now supports two external displays when the lid is closed, but the M3 MacBook Pro can only support one external display. Meanwhile, all Intel MacBooks can support two external displays with the lid open, for 3 displays. Way to go Apple. And still extortion prices for RAM and SSD upgrades. Maybe Apple is listening to all the complaints to restore a popular feature that they took away when they introduced Apple Silicon. -
