Editorial: The NSA remains uninterested in our safety by calling for encryption weakening
Mike Wuerthele said:indieshack said:As long as access requires a court order, I have zero problem with the NSA having access to my phone contents - I have a bigger problem with law enforcement attempting (but failing because of Apple's draconian security) to quickly gain access to terrorist cell information. Sorry, but that's the way I feel about it we all have different and equally valid opinions. -
Confusion reigns over iPhone 11 Pro RAM, benchmarking tests
DAalseth said:So, actual Geekbench testing said 4GB. Unnamed, unverified sources of unknown reliability say 6Gb. Uh, yeah I'd go with the actual measurement until I get more data. I suppose it is possible that the base version has 4 and ones with more RAM, or the Max version has 6. But the only way to know for sure is an actual measurement, not rumours. -

Leaked Apple document says new Siri device is coming by fall 2021

There is much unknown for a device which yet to be announced and appear in about 2 years.

Apple's Catalyst polarizes developers ahead of iOS 13, Catalina launch
randominternetperson said:It does seem like Catalyst is a quick way to turn an iPad app into a bad or mediocre Mac app. I'm not sure how many development shops want/need that. If they care about Macs they already have a Mac development team; if they don't would they really want to create a quick and dirty Mac app and not provide the same for their Windows customers? If I were in that boat, I would create a web interface to supplement the iOS app, not just port the app to MacOS.
