'iPhone SE' rumors spark hopes that Apple will continue to sell iPhone 5s at $350 or less
Apple stock was cut in a few years ago because of margin fears by analysts. Now they are hoping for a $350.00 phone? As soon as Apple does that you will get a parade of folks on CNBC saying why buy the IP7 for 800 when the 350 special performs almost the same. Similar to them finding people in their 20's with no interest in wearing a watch (during the launch of Apple Watch) -
Apple sells 74.8M iPhones, rakes in $75.9B in revenue in company's biggest quarter ever
It is amazing to see a company earn 18B in profit but lose 10-15B in market cap post earnings. The market seems as if it wants Google to over take Apple in market cap. I suspect that will happen by the next earnings release. Wall Street knows that apple's comps will be easier next year so Sept-October will most likely be when the stock will reverse trend. Until then I guess the multiple will drop below 10. Although a 10% drop in revenue next quarter does not equate to a 30% drop in component orders. I do wonder why the analyst did not harp on the supply chain rumors on the call -
Real world iPhone 6s adoption data contradicts Apple supplier channel check rumors
I think cook needs to do a $100b buyback and take advantage of this bs. Even after dropping nearly 30% WallStreet continues to push stock lower. The PE is already 10. Then you have a stock like chipotle who has had numerous confirmed ecoli problems and warned and their stock is only down 40% and it may take 2-3 years for their earnings to recover. Analyst are expecting apples earnings to pick back up in 2-3 quarters. This is insane -
Samsung warns it will have a tough year in 2016
Apple catered to wall street a couple years ago and it has gotten them nowhere. WallStreet bashed Apple for hoarding cash and said paying a dividend would lift the stock and satisfy investors. Apple complied. WallStreet said iPhone was too expensive for China and they needed to make cheaper phone. Apple complied with 5c. WallStreet said Cook need to innovate and create new product and services. Apple complied with Apple Pay and Apple Watch. They said Apple needed to acquire a company but they had a fit when Apple bought Beats for 3 billion. I think the stock tanked from that news. If iPhone sales growth is now the issue why did the stock peak back in Feb? I remember when the fear was margins, eps growth, rev growth and even Samsung! -
Brean Capital tells investors to ignore 'noisy' supply chain, focus on longterm iPhone success
Tim Cook stated on the most recent conference call that iPhone demand outpaced supply as of quarter end. Two weeks later an analyst writes that Apple is cutting supply. Those same analyst are neg short term but expect stock price to reach 130-150 within 12 months. Wall Street currently punishes Apple because iPhone makes up 65% of profit but will also punish Apple in future if it does not continue to show double digit iPhone growth. So despite the addition of a dividend, buyback, Apple Watch, 150 billion in earnings, eps growth and rev growth since 2012, the stock has actually gone down in mkt cap. Just goes to show that the stock is not down because of cook and apple's financials. Wall Street basically has put a top on the stock and looking for excuses to hold it there. Supply chain, everybody owns Apple, everybody owns cell phone, no innovation, bend gate, maps gate, etc
