  • Questionable rumor claims 'iPad Air 3' will have 4K display, 4GB RAM

4k is completely unnecessary in an iPad Air. The only way it would matter is if had 3D capabilities. Otherwise makes no difference to the human eye. Specs do impress dumb people though.
Agreed. Especially about the specs part. All of my Android loving friends love to quote their phone specs.
And the low prices they had paid for their devices with all that specs that obviously trounce your iPhone 6s spec sheet, 8-core processors, 6 inches screens with 4k, gazillions of GB storage, por half the price not of an iPhone, but a 16GB iPod Touch.

As somebody waiting for the next iPad update to upgrade from an iPad 2 that feels really dated and heavy, I will be very happy that the rumor were true. A9 and A9X chips can handle 4K without any problem, but I seriously doubt it, 4K will be in the Pro before, is the "canvas iPad" and there resolution is key. I will be very happy with the standard current retina if there's the A9X inside. The Apple product that IMHO must go 5K and 4K soon are the rMacBook Pros, to leave room for the Air to go standard Retina, they are the only product line without any retina version.

  • Mac, iOS versions of Safari crashing due to search suggestions feature [u]

Yeah, as if Cook himself personally is responsible for solving the bug...

Anyways, you can also just enter your search term in the spotlight(?) screen, when you swipe down or left on the home screen, and then select 'search on web'..
Yes Cook is responsible ultimately. He is the CEO.

Problem is this is not an isolated occurence.  iOS/OSX and Apple Apps and services have experienced way more bugs since the Steve Jobs days.

Apple Music deleting playlists and files
iPad Pro crashing when being charged
    Safari problems
    Maps debacle
AppleTV having no keyboard/Remote App support
    iTunes a total dumpster fire.

The list goes on and on. The farther we get away from Jobs the more confusing, cluttered, and bug infested Apple services is becoming.
Short memory sog, Mobile Me was a disaster. Even Jobs made his last joke on stage about it when he introduced iCloud, other of the highly criticized Apple services, that, btw, it works perfectly fine for me, never an issue.

  • Munster: iPhone to return to growth in 2016 despite macroeconomic worries

This would be great news...but I'm trying to remember...has Piper Jaffray and Munster EVER been right about ANYTHING???
Back in the olden days when AAPL was something like $20 (prior to the stock split) per share, practically every single Analyst had written Apple off except Munster. For at least 5 year of super rapid growth, he was one of the few that was actually right with the overall conclusion that AAPL was destined for good times.
His numbers may have been out in recent times, but his historical positivity sure hasn't been.

Agreed, he was the first to notice what the iPod would mean for AAPL, and the first to see a $70 per share pre split in 2007 or so
