  • Apple tells users to erase, restore iPhone and Apple Watch to fix Workout GPS data bug

That’s really quite a poor show from Apple here, in terms of quality control and user experience.

  • Norway will use the Apple-Google API to replace its failed COVID-19 app

How sad is it that other entire nations are adopting a well-made, ready-to-use implementation of exactly what is needed, and most of our US states aren't. They'll all on their own, competing for supplies and making the same duplicated evaluations & efforts on tools like this. What a colossal failure our lack of federal response has been. A waste of so much money and life.

It's just as bad over here.

The UK government ignored the advice of just about every IT specialist available and built their own system that drained phones like no one's business.

Then, after months of delay, they released an app based around the Apple/Google framework – but it will only accept test results from a private company which is no doubt run by one of their rich friends. It does not accept test results from tests administered by the National Health Service.

This country is being run like a 'Yes Minister' series, except no one's laughing.

  • Apple's automotive ambitions extend far beyond self-driving systems

Schematics and many proposals does not make a future car...for myself I do not believe that Apple will go into the bar business, maybe buying a car company yes...but doing what Tesla has done, no way. This my own personal opinion.

Well, one thing we know about Apple is that it's tighter than Kylie's jeans when it comes to spending money. They've spent millions, possibly billions on R&D around cars, so I'd be surprised if they didn't come up with a vehicle at the end of it.

The thing is, since the COVID mess, the world is now working at home and cycling everywhere so we might just end up with an Apple Cycle

  • Judge temporarily halts Trump administration's TikTok ban

"Uhh,  what are those?   What are facts?   We don't need no stinkin facts!    Never liked them.   Never used them.   Lies and smear campaigns are better than truth and facts any day!"
Yes, because a president is not privy to more information than the average citizen. And in the unlikely event a president knows something the citizens don’t, he is obligated to tell them everything. If he doesn’t tell them everything, perhaps because every single president in the history of the US knows that certain information is not suitable for public awareness, then it’s basically the same thing as the president not having any reason.

The thing that concerns me is not a TikTok ban but that so many politicians and organisations and citizens are wilfully blind toward China’s government, despite there being overwhelming evidence that they are not passive and innocent and are a real threat to the US.
Fascinating that you think China is a bigger threat to the US than the current president of the US. Fixing the sh*tshow that is the current administration should be the top priority before worrying about anything else.

  • Coalition for App Fairness unites developers to fight Apple's App Store fees and policies

Hmph. Their website locks up if you don’t accept their tracking cookies.

Yup, think I’ve got the measure of this lot.
