Apple refugees dish on how iPhone development culture echoes into Pearl Automation
Let me get this straight. Pearl is making a product that will soon be obsolete, as an earlier commenter noted. They have priced themselves out of the market for the backup camera. They couldn't get the camera released in time for the holiday season. They have raised $50 million in venture capital and now they need more. No thanks. And yes, your headline writer needs to look up "refugee" and sharpen those vocabulary skills. -
Phil Schiller: New MacBook Pro has more orders from Apple than any other pro model ever
Apple is smart enough to know there will always be a vocal minority of whiners. Give users great specs, hardware, and software (not to mention innovation) and people will whine that the machines are too expensive. Build a machine for the future and people will whine about what has been lost (I mean really, do you remember the wailing when Apple removed the floppy drive? How is the loss of the SD slot any different? Note to boo-hooing photographers: grow up). In the meantime, the furor will die down and orders will pile up. Apple knows what the hell it is doing. -
Patriots head coach punting Microsoft Surface from sidelines, going back to binders
Rayz2016 said:The problem here is that the coach seems to think it's a tablet problem, rather than a Surface problem. The chances are Microsoft have ruined it for everybody, Apple included. -
Apple Stores suffering from 'cult' atmosphere, advancement barriers, says UK staffer
I don't agree with the slant of this article, but that aside… working at an Apple store is a few notches up from McDonald's. For almost everybody, it is not a career. Yes, you might make store assistant manager someday, but what do you expect beyond that? This is what I love about a free: you get to plot your own destiny. Put yourself in the best position for career advancement, if that's what you want. And by the way, applying to work at any high-profile company means you'll make less money and compete like crazy for the job. To see what I mean, try getting hired by Disney.
