  • Apple now allows AppleCare+ for Mac to continue beyond three years

It would’ve been nice to know or have this implemented 3 weeks ago, before coverage for my iMac Pro expired.
It would have been nicer if you had bothered to read the article before posting.

AirTag is big enough to accommodate up to three emoji or four text characters,

Four-letter expletives, derogatory terms and other questionable text are similarly blocked.

If you are able to put your 7 digit phone number on it, and someone finds your lost AirTag, and they realize that that's your phone number on there, then you won't even have to put your device into "Lost Mode" and they will still be able to contact you. As long as you lost your device in the same area code as they found it.
    Clever.
You can probably get a keyring with your phone number on it for $2.
AMEN! I was thinking the same thing.

  • Developers claim that Apple's privacy-first features are 'atomic bomb' for revenue

Boo hoo. This is a classic case of "It's all about me." Opt-in privacy settings is good for everybody else.

  • Apple, Prepear enter settlement negotiations over fruit logo trademark

As a longtime graphic designer, I am keenly aware of issues related to company branding. Logo creation is an expensive and time-consuming undertaking. When a company's brand becomes associated with attributes such as success, quality goods and services, and strong reputation, defending that branding becomes critical both commercially and legally.

Just as important, a fledgling company must create a brand that distinguishes it from others, regardless of how similar or dissimilar the companies may be. In its endeavor to stand apart, the nascent company must be free to adopt a compelling design while taking great care not to create confusion in the marketplace.

In this case, I would say Apple is being heavy handed and not at all reasonable. Apple's case has nothing to do with the likelihood of product confusion or diminution of company value. It simply comes down to getting pissy simply because another company has dared to represent itself with a minimalist piece of fruit.

I would love to see this dispute go to trial, with Apple being liable for Prepear's total accumulated legal expenses, plus some punitive damages.

  • Swallowed AirPod sends 7-year-old to emergency room

I wonder which new iPhone the 7 year old got?

Brand new airpods and an iPhone for a 7 year old kid does seem a tad much to be honest, regardless of how well off the parents might or might not be. Most adults dont even get that good of an Xmas present I bet. Nobody bought me an iPhone for Xmas, not that I need a new iPhone.

I think that technology in general is great, and Ive probably said this before, but too much tech makes certain kids dumb, as they tend to overly rely on things like their phone, without ever having learned basic skills. I see evidence of this all of the time.

Airpods should probably not be given to people who do not know that Airpods belong in the ears and not in the mouth.

And under what rock has the doctor been living to never have heard of Airpods before?  Even if somebody is not an Apple user, Airpods can be seen everywhere. I cant step outside for 2 minutes without running into somebody wearing a pair.

I dont have a 7 year old kid, but if I did, then they should not expect any Airpods from me for Xmas, not because Im cheap, but because thats how I would raise my kids. And they wouldnt be getting any iPhone from me either or any phone at all when they were just 7.

My kids would be raised smart and I wouldnt be contributing to the idiocrafication of society. Thats probably not a real word, but I dont care.

Next Christmas, ask for some apostrophes and a grammar book.
