It would be really cool if they took the appearance as an opportunity to announce a bounty program for MacOS similar to the iOS bounty program.

@mpantone and @davidw have the right answer imo.  Apple wants another source of OLED panels where they control the price.  They've already spent a couple of billion to support LG's small panel OLED production.  Keeping JD viable long enough for their OLED capacity to hit the market gives them two suppliers to offset Samsung.  Not only would they have an offset for Samsung, more importantly, they'd have a supply that they control... and I think that's the most important thing for them.

Breaking update:  Apple doesn't buy entire company, just the building and the patents.

Breaking update 2:  Apple decides they want the employees and the building but not the patents.

Breaking update 3:  Apple says patents it all it needs.  The rest is useless.

Of course I'm joking but there is a fair contingent of fans who act just like that.

Hmmm, the last time Apple joined a cabal, Rockstar Consortium was born.  Not Apple's best day.  I do agree that it would be terrible of a patent troll  grabbed the IP though.  Apple should go it alone if they do anything at all.  

Those representations of a camera on the watch looks absolutely terrible.  Aesthetics are a large part of a watch's desirability and nothing shown here contributes.  Detracts? Most definitely.  Contributes?  Nope.  Idk, but maybe, just maybe the watch isn't the best place to stick a camera.  I could easily imagine every one of those representations being damaged in less than 10 minutes after putting the watch on a wrist.
