The media in other industries are not as ignorant as the tech media: entertainment media, automobile media, sports media, ect.  

I'd say close 90% of the tech media is clueless about what normal people want from tech products.

Exactly right. This photo will be a workhorse. Anyone with a three year old 5s knows how well it still performs and how well the timeless design has held up. There is no other phone around you can say that about.
And unlike Android, Apple has fully supported their customers with it instead of abandoning them and moving on to the next model and next customer. The last east software iOS 9.3 run fantastic on my 5s with even better battery life than when I first bought it. You cannot say that about any Android device. The quality and longevity is there for all to see.

it's THE perfect device for first time smartphone owners. Especially when you compare to cheap Android phones which are basically disposable gadgets that are never updated software-wise and on your own where it comes to bugs or glitches or malware.

I REALLY hope it looks nothing like the 6. I thought it was going to look like the 5? I was really hoping to a return to a classy form factor. I would much rather they went with plastic like the 5c, than the 6,

From my own personal experience, I can attest that Android has far more problems than iOS. With sealed batteries now, you have to learn how to shut down and restart your phone whenever crashes. It happens a lot.
