Apple's 'differential privacy' policy invoked for opt-in iCloud data analysis in iOS 10.3
bobolicious said:Photos in Sierra auto tags all photos - no opt out, or in, and as I recall even had an arguably misleading statement on the photos web page suggesting the possibility, rather than the compulsory data mining... One can call it various shades of private, but I'm guessing all one needs is an executive order and fair game on... -
What history teaches about Apple's windows of opportunity for 2017
An image that strikes me is that Apple seems to be the kung-fu shaolin monk (David Carradine comes to mind) who can deal out deadly strokes, but only if necessary, never to show off..
The shaolin monk will remain calm and close-mouthed, analyzing his opponents and deciding for the best time of action..
The people disappointed in Apple for not bringing out a powerful Mac(Book) are like the junior apprentices that want the master to show his muscles and demolish adversaries just for being arrogant show-offs.. Whereas the master sees through the bullshit and conserves his efforts for more opportune moments..

What history teaches about Apple's windows of opportunity for 2017
(speculating out loud)
I think the reason that Macs get less attention is that in Apple's future they probably see them going up into the iPhone..
But unlike Microsoft with Continuum, they'll only do it when the experience is actually better than the machines they intend to replace..
Which is why this is probably still years ahead..
Which is why Macs have to be 'maintained' in the meantime..
My point is not that Continuum v2 is a goal in itself of Apple, but that it is an inevitable consequence of an iPhone that gets ever more powerful. iPhones are already approaching desktop territory in terms of performance.. Give it a couple more years and you can have desktop-class computing in your pocket, and only a dumb keyboard and display away.. (when connected iPhone could provide macOS interface..)
So my guess is that they are putting most of the effort in bringing iPhone beyond the Mac instead of leveling the effort between the two..

They will get lost - Yes, they are very small. So it will happen.

They will fall out of your ear - I suppose for many people, since they have no option for different sizes.

Yesterday I had one airpod in the hand and desperately looking for the other..; slightly panicking as I couldn't find it on the table or on the floor or in the case or in my pockets..
Until I scratched my ear in wonder and could feel it sit there.. it fitted so well I no longer noticed it was in my ear..
(to be honest, only happened once (so far).. I am normally aware of their presence..)
