  • Apple suppliers expecting 50% component order cut for 'iPhone 12'

And yet there are still people claiming there is going to be some 5G iPhone supercycle which is the exact opposite.  I'm only saying there always seems to be such extremes in articles about Apple.  We all need to wait to see what happens when the time comes.  I think sales will be OK.  Not terrible and not great, but satisfactory.  I know there are a lot of people out of work who may not be able to afford a new iPhone but that's just how I see it.

  • Microsoft's Steven Sinofsky calls Apple Silicon strategy 'fearless'

    True

Apple Silicon is going to be crazy good.  Not just speed, but all the other integrations.  Apple has a real opportunity to drive Mac unit share above 20%.  That would more than double Apple’s annual Mac units.  Plus, gross margins will be better

    Huge financial opportunity

But what about RGB lighting.  All Windows laptops and desktops come with RGB lighting.  That's one of the most important selling points of today's Windows/Intel computers.  RGB components everywhere.  Consumers must have RGB lighting.  RGB lighting is what real computing is all about.  No RGB lighting, no sale.

  • Apple Maps expands detailed coverage internationally, adds cycling & EV data

Finally, something for bicyclists.  Bike routes and bike lanes on AppleMaps will finally allow me to move from Google Maps.

  • How ARM has already saved Apple - twice

I don't know what to think of this transition.  Users don't buy computers for the processors inside of them.  As long as computers do what's necessary with the least amount of problems, I doubt it makes a difference what processor they're running.  I'm sure Apple thought long and hard about this and starting with putting ARM processors in MacBooks seems safe enough.  It's hard for me to think that ARM processors are going to replace Intel X86-class processors for consumer computing, but only time will tell.  I'm open to the transition.  I'd even be happy if the power was the same and Apple is able to increase battery life by 20%.  I only need a laptop that's relatively fast but very reliable.  Apparently, Apple is going to skip over AMD processors entirely.  Apple is going to walk a solitary path and I hope it works out for them.  As a lifetime Apple computer user and shareholder, I really do hope they're on to something special.

  • Google sued in $5 billion class action lawsuit for tracking 'private' internet use

No user will ever see a penny from Google.  That company is untouchable because of its wealth and wealthy backers.  They always win lawsuits because they have terrific lawyers and know who to bribe.  Being that Google is a widely-known data harvester, I honestly thought that most people don't care if Google is taking their private/personal data as long as they get decent services.  I won't be holding my breath by waiting for my $5,000.  Google practically runs the entire internet, so I'm sure they will be protected from any financial harm.  Any company that part of the FANG group will remain protected and will continue to do as they please.  They're just too valuable to be messed with.

Any lawsuit against Google is a waste of time and money.  They're simply too powerful to be told how to operate.  It's doubtful even the federal government could regulate Google or Facebook.  I wouldn't be surprised if both companies are secretly backed by U.S. intelligence agencies.
