  • Craig Federighi says macOS would ruin what makes the iPad special

The real answer is right now Apple can sell you three main computing products:

    1. iPhone.
    2. Mac.
    3. iPad.

If they made a touch screen max, you may not buy an iPad. And if they added macOS on iPad, you may not buy a Mac.

The reality is the form factor makes all the difference.

The iPhone needs a much simpler ui due to the small size. But an iPad could run full max os and be a truly great experience.

And will the glass ui, it’s all touch friendly out of the gate. Even on Mac OS. On iPad, they can have tube is auto-sense what device it is and scale up ui elements accordingly.

Literally EVERYONE would be happier if the iPad ram macOS. Even if certsin UX behaviors were different on iPad to flow better on that device.

Subscribe to mobile finsl cut? Heck no. Install already paid for Final Cut? Heck yes! Adobe creative suite without the dumb iPad remap? Yes please.

It’s really about redundant revenue streams and nothing else. And it’s getting old, even with the new and improved iPadOS updates.

Hardly even use my iPad Pro anymore except to illustrate.

  • Valve's Steam gaming client is finally getting an Apple Silicon native upgrade

Apple has done the two big things they needed to do:

    1. show that they are serious about AI. They’ve done that. Is it super grrat? No. But they’ve launched and now it’s about quiet iteration.

    2. Revamp the UI. Did it need a redo? Not really. But in a world where change gets confused with progress, it’s sometimes necessary.

They’re still innovating with all software and hardware.

But one huge market is basically untapped: cutting edge AAA GAMING.

I and many others would love to not have to buy a console to enjoy some downtime - or worse yet, a GAMING PC that will be outdated in a year.

Apple’s silicon and Metal framework are ready for a takeover. There are just 3 things Apple needs to do:

    1. become a AAA games publisher. START BY PURCHASING some substantial studios with critical IP.

That could be a huge publisher like EA and/or talented indie studios that produce crazy games like Star Citizen.

    2. Go after the studios like you’re courting them. Launch a dev team to help studios get their games ported to Apple silicon as efficiently and easily as possible.

    3. Create a tiered development profile that allows for every non-obsolete Apple product to be supported. This system would have set levels for lowest denominator products all the way up to M series Ultra SOCs. Built in AI upscaling along the likes of DLSS across the board.

    4. Get some exclusives and some timed exclusives during the launch year to ensure “Apple Arcade technology” is seen as the preeminent destination for bleeding edge gaming.

    5. Engineer a dedicated gaming controller. But also allow for third party controllers.

This would be killer. Everyone has an iPhone iPad or Mac. Even Vision Pro owners would be thrilled.

It boggles why this hasn’t been done already.

Perfectly safe in jolly ol England.  No one is allowed to have firearms there.

Oh yeah, car thieves are so well known for obeying the law.
One reason why banning guns never works. It ensures only the criminals have them.

    Billionaires are just people.

Some are smart and respectable, some aren’t. Just like poor people and everyone in between.

  • LA Apple Store looted during anti-ICE protests

I deleted a comment because it was going to become the talking point of this thread and create an argument around it. We're not going to tolerate posts that suggest there's an "invasion" or violent riots in LA. Take the propaganda elsewhere.

Actions of a few individuals capitalizing on chaos to loot are not the problem. Illegal actions by the United States President against protesting citizens is the problem. Going after people working at Home Depot or attending court about their impending citizenship is the problem. Zip tying children and hiding your badge while performing inhumane actions is the problem.

Suggesting otherwise is not only offensive and stupid, it's off topic. So unless you're here to talk about Apple boarding up an Apple Store after a looting, keep it to yourself.
Moderation is to keep things in order, not to try to manipulate a viewpoint and silence other views. If you are going to push the "CNN." 'CBS," and "ABC" talking points, then you should have the "Fox," 'Sky", and "BBC" talking points to balance. Otherwise you continue to turn this place into a leftists echo chamber.  unbelievable.
