  • Touchscreen Macs, folding iPads to arrive before the end of the decade

Touchscreen Macs are overdue and they already fold the way they should.

A model of foldable iPad would be ok. I can think of a few portable presentation scenarios where it would come in handy. Doubt it would sell very much, but would have a market.

  • Jony Ive talks about minimalism, taste, and Apple's design group

Of all the incredible world-shifting successes he’s had, he chooses to share an obviously emotional triumph related to…packaging a power cable. Come to think of it, I remember the first time I unboxed a cable like thpught and was consciously struck by the care and craftsmanship that went into that. It was a pleasure to unbox. And multiple times since.

I always thought some dedicated packaging designer created that. Never knew it was Jony. Dude is an animal.

  • Apple's homeOS platform is coming: All the rumors, and what you need to know

I’ve dreamed of this for years. So long as there is a way to ensure any data about my home doesn’t get stored on anyone’s servers, I’m in.

  • Apple working on M6 & M7 chips alongside new AI server processor

No need for a MacBook Pro redesign. It’s pretty much perfect in its most recent form.

Hopefully m5 cranks things up. But the real story with be with m6.
What’s expected from M6? Why is it going to be so much better?

Ok. You got me. It may not be “so much better” depending on the choices they mske. But it’s expected to be the first apple silicon on tsmcs 2nm process, enabling a greater amount of performance per watt and run cooler. Or it could enable Apple to pack in a ton more transistors. It’s only a 1 nm difference, but even that has potential to mske a substantial difference. Then again, they could just do a die shrink with minimal design chsnges. However, at the expense of the new process, that is not likely.

So no difference compared to any other die shrink process node.
True. Never said otherwise. But it’s not like a more advanced process isn’t a big deal. Not do they happen every day  look at the m4 once the 3nm process was running efficiently. It’s a rather impressive thing. I suspect we will see a similar jump in capability on the 2nm process.

  • Apple Glass will get custom Apple Silicon tailored for low power & camera control

Basic common sense to let the ultra powerful iPhones do all the heavy-lifting and Bluetooth them to the glasses. That way the frames can be ultra slim, metal or like regular glasses instead of all of the current manufacturers going down the JOE 90 route.
That solves a lot of issues while also not cannibslizing the iPhone.
