Rumored Mac Pro & Mac Studio aren't dead -- but neither are now expected at WWDC

The Studio offers more than enough power for most use cases and the need for PCI cards is rarer than ever.Too bad- it’s awesome to have gobs of power but with the insane efficiency of Apple Silicon it’s no longer necessary. You can have your cake and eat it already. An M2 Ultra is likely too hot to makes sense. So it waits for M3. Should get a revision or 2 prior to launch of big screen iMac and Mac Pro.The Ultra is quick, since the Max is quick, but it’s nowhere near as quick as it should/could be.Of course it’s a bummer when you buy something and find this stuff out later. But that’s the way it is.It’s a widely known issue. Just Google it.Thankfully, Apple is aware and has already resolved this in m2. So when the M3 Ultra (and greater) chips arrive, they’ll be singing at full potential.

New 15-inch MacBook Air will have two M2 options, says Kuo
So… M2 is a choice… but it seems kinda lame at this juncture. M2 launched a year prior. But… it’s meant to be a “cheap” 15” mass market notebook and so an M2 would fit that price point. This isn’t a game-changing laptop in terms of capabilities or tech or design. It’s just an Air with a bit more screen.M3 will likely launch with the updated baby iMac since it skipped m2 entirely. That would have more impact. Perhaps a “one more thing?”
TSMC has been mass producing 3nm chips for Apple since late last year. With the improved yields as they’ve gotten a better handle on the process, That should be enough lead time to cover iPhone and Mac. Then Pro/Max/Ultra/Super Duper in early ‘24 (but not-so-secretly praying for late ‘23).Good times. -
Future iMac may be able to extend desktop onto nearby walls
While cool, I doubt apple will ever build rejectors into the back of an iMac. The expense would be ridiculous. Then there is the laser element which will go bad in a number of years. It will last a long time, but not really the life of the iMac.If they did small LED projectors, it would be better, but the expense would still be an issue. Then there’s the heat buildup. Even with LEDs, pushing the light creates heat. Cooling a computer in a small housing is issue enough. Add projector heat and you’re in trouble.Neat concept. Good patent to have - especially so the “first!” Tv companies and gaming monitor people can pay you royalties. But not really going to work in an all day every day computer.
