  • 'Foundation' trailer teases new season & summer release

    Dang. Why the long wait between seasons? It completely kills the momentum. 

    By the time it rolls around, the market for it will be different as a result. 

    I think streaming services are going to have
     to commit to two services up front and decide on the third season halfway through the first if they want IPs to thrive. Otherwise interest wanes during the droughts and people move on to other IPs. Then launch the third season in close proximity to the second. It’s a nice recipe that will work - the lone exception being Amazon’s Rings of Power which cost ridiculous amounts of money for such poor quality return.

    Any government employee should be banned from TikTok. Actually… TikTok should be banned in the USA. It’s basically just a spy tool for the Chinese government, regardless of the front corps that covers for it. 

    How it’s still available is beyond reason.

    I work from home often. But I hate it. My work takes longer, digital collab isn’t nearly as good as face to face, and the quality isn’t the same. Way different energy. 

    I can’t imagine architecting and testing such complicated and important things as a world leading SOC…from home. 

    Additionally, Apple lost some early chip engineers. That no doubt was a factor. Hard to replace people like that. Takes time. I imagine A17 is going to blow the doors off though. Fixing a16 graphics along with planned a17 features.

  • Pro Display XDR update with Apple Silicon one of many in-development monitors

    6k 30 inch iMac would be awesome. 

    7-8k 32-36 inch Pro Display XDR with mini led and promotion would be fantastic as well. 

    Replace the beleaguered studio display with a mini led promotion version with an actual great webcam at the same price point. 

    Recipe for success.

    Why do you doubt it? I would have bought it just right away. So some other people. The question is if there is a market for this and how much would it canibalize other sales.
    I doubt it because it doesn’t fit right in the product matrix. 

    You have MacBook Air at the low end. A thin and light with just enough of everything. Then you have the 14 inch pro as a step up. Then you have the 16 inch at the high end. A nice trifecta. Perhaps the 15.5 inches will be the rebirth of the MacBook. But even that is strange as the pro has a 14 inch version. A 15.5 inch air doesn’t have a hole to fill or a reason to be. 

    There have been rumblings of a larger iPad in the works. This screen could be it - unless Apple plans to increase the screen sizes of the Pro models further with a 15.5 inch low end and a 17” inch high end. That would be logical. Yet the new models are only a little over a year old. 

    I’m going to stick with the iPad idea. Especially as Apple will likely leverage its pro apps on am series iPads in the near future. More real estate is better for video editing, etc. 

    a MacBook Air with a little bit more screen just seems like an exercise in no point.
