The new MacBook Pro: Why did Apple backtrack on everything?
Apples backtrack has nothing to do with jony. Though he’d have likely found a way to make the devices look slimmer than the new chunksters. But he was a guy that understood that form follows function snd that the two are not exclusive.There are some backward steps taken with the new aesthetics. Not the greatest. But still looks good enough.That said, I believe that Apple realizes that they need thermal headroom with their new chips and that they will need even more over the years.Pc laptop makers put out ridiculously hot and power hungry devices and then advertise them compared with Apple. Of course the performance Will beat Apple in that way. So even though they lose the thermal and efficiency war? They can say “ well ours wins where it matters.” And in some cases they were right.What Apple has done is given their laptops and enclosure with room for performance increase. Already it’s beneficial to the 16 m1 max in pro mode. And when duo snd quad versions of max chips make their way in, they won’t have to redesign every year. And they can spank the nuclear reactor laptops in every category along the way.The port situation is apples leadership mistake. They went all in on the laptop with thunderbolt and backed out with everything else. If they’d committed, we wouldn’t need anything else. But they didn’t and created their own mess. Now they are cleaning it up. It’s really the only option until they decide to go all in the right way.The Touch Bar was and is a brilliant idea. The only problem is that it was forgotten about. Couple that with it’s reputation being mixed together with some bad butterfly keyboards and it was doomed. Not the best decision. But hey. It’s done.Some better decisions could have been made with the design, but Ive’s gone now snd we have what we have.A better decision could have been made with ports across the entire Mac lineup years ago. But it wasn’t. So we have what we have.The novel Touch Bar was never improved or supported, so it was a neglected animal left to die. And so it has. Sad but true.So here we are. At the state things were, these decisions had to be made. Apple is a company known for its focus snd wisdom. When they weren’t uniformly applied in a rare long moment, things suffered. This is making the best of it.Still the best notebooks you can buy. And great decisions with what they had to work with.

That’s just it. He isn’t doing what’s expected. The seal is a physical thing. And it has a digital one.At first glance, I did not like it. But I get why it is the way it is.Still, it’s kind of meh. And I’ve spotted some spacing snd shape errors. Kind of strange. Are they mistakes, or purposeful to not look “computer perfect?”
Jony is certainly capable of perfect symmetry, shape, and spacing as well as powerful simplicity. So I’m guessing it’s intentional.Interesting.

It's time to drop apps that don't support Apple Silicon natively
Sort of. They have learned. BlackMagic design copied that model and stole a lot of their business. For cheaper.king editor the grate said:

Rock solid (be sure your camera network is closed and only used for your broadcasting) and we could easily add as many cameras as we wanted, including iPhones over wireless in a pinch. It’s like a miracle. We were pretty maxed out on our budget, but NDI gave us a “free” extra budget to pipe in content from sources that were a gigantic challenge before. For live broadcasting and recorded content, it’s been a dream. Go NDI. Never worry about proprietary boxing in again.Sorry to sound like an evangelist. But dang. This saved our rear ends in a time where our media team had to get very very creative on a tiny budget. Next thing we knew, we were looking like an unlimited budget crew. Had to share.

Apple Silicon MacBook Pro and AirPods event is on October 18
The white border is trash. In the 90s, everything was all over the place so that design was not bad. It was kind of fresh actually. But today, it’s a backward step. Looks like a fisher price toy. Macs have always had class and an ahead of their time look. The current small iMac just looks like a throwaway fad.patchythepirate said:

What does the Armchair-Predictor reveal?Like you, I want something professional looking and timelessly modern. Like some Mercedes, Porsche, or bmw designs. Not something that looks like it was bought in the wal mart toy aisle.Big iMac in silver or gray, with either no bezel or a tiny black “eyeliner” around the screen.Thankfully the iPhone iPad and watch have black borders.Would love to see the bigger iMac house the power supply in back in the body where it belongs.
