Apple TV+ reportedly had less than 20M subscribers in US and Canada as of July
netling said:Can’t compare Disney+ against Apple TV+ because Disney started with a MASSIVE following with Marvel and Pixar fans, not to mention the TONS (read as thousands of hours) of content over the last 59 years. Apple started with ZERO content but is making an honest go at it, look at Ted Lasso and the recognition it has received. Netflix and Amazon are each spending more than $15+ Billion dollars per year on content, so it’s a competitive market place but where Apple has dropped the ball is on Apple TV device, it needs to be focusing on gaming, along with content. When Apple created iTunes, they went after the entire industry and are the industry standard as a result. Should have treated Apple TV + the same way. -

I know some Android phones can do this, but unless you're doing heavy video crops it's hard to see why you'd want it.
On Android everything is a specs race, so it makes sense there (though no one probably uses it more than once). This will be a huge deal. -
Apple backs down on CSAM features, postpones launch
On device spying is wrong.Spying on my files on my server space, whether free or paid is wrong. It’s not a website with content for others to look at. It’s my personal stuff. If Apple wanted to do this, iCloud needs to always be off by default and their needs to a be a warning when you go to turn it on snd a confirmation. No one wants people snooping. Not to mention any political retaliation for different groups views as the potential for abiding and infrastructure like this is definitely there. -

Sounds like Apple is just taking the frog in the frying pan approach. They willl still force this through, but only after the initial freak out is over and people forget. Then they’ll claim to have improved it and people will already be softened up. A classic historical move used by dictators and manipulators. Not liking apples language here.Sounds very much like the political double speech we’ve been hearing throughout the Afghan withdrawal.Apple, remember who you are snd just speak truly and clearly and with finality. Don’t play word games at get political about matters. Just make the best products your customers genuinely love and stick to that.
