If this report is true, (a huge IF) a folding iPhone would be the first major design change since 2007 and the original 4GB iPhone. Yes, Apple has lost it, they've been riding the Ghost of Steve Jobs influence ever since.
Oh for crying out loud. Have you seen the current tech for folding phones? It’s garbage. Apple is not going to put its name on a crappy product that has a crease right in the middle of the screen. If and when the technology allows making a reliable phone with a creaseless screen, they’ll make one. Until then we’ll have to make do with Tim Apple lack of creativity and inferior, boring, not-at-all innovative products like AirPods, AirTags, Vision Pro… </s>
There is nothing 'garbage' about the state of almost all current folding phones and creases are a tradeoff and literally invisible in use.

They are tradeoffs, like the notch and big bezels. Remember those?

Two things stood out at MWC. One, probably the entire Mercedes fleet of shiny black mini vans with tinted windows, and two, the amount of folding phones being used by visitors.

Um no. Current foldable phones are trash. The creases are clearly visible and wear.

The Microsoft model had two separate screens that had a seem in the middle when folded so it was t perfect. But it was the only one that didn’t turn to trash after heavy use. And it’s gone already.

It’s a nice gimmick so far for as long as it lasts.

  • Future iPhone may get displays and controls on the edges

    Igalaxyedge?

theres a reason Samsung doesn’t make it anymore.

No fun running out of places to just hold the phone.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Apple is generally in the business of copying failed experiments.

Also, we ALREADY HAVE virtual buttons. On the screen. The best place for them. And conveniently available only when we want to use a particular app.

We literally do t need any more hardware buttons or more virtual buttons when not wanted.

  • MacBook Pro and MacBook Air overwhelmingly drive Apple Mac sales

The M2 Ultra Mac Pro outsells the Mac Studio and Mac mini COMBINED?

    Dang.

    Must be the creative studios.

  • 20.3-inch MacBook with foldable screen rumored to hit store shelves in 2027

I wouldn't buy it, but a foldable laptop makes a lot more sense than a phone.

  • 'Verifiably untrustworthy' Epic Games iOS app store plans in EU killed by Apple

This doesn't look good for Apple on the face of it.

Apple has the last word on 'trust'?

I can't see that going down well in the EU.

I suppose Epic will accuse Apple of discrimination.

    We'll see.

Previous judgements disagree with you. Apple indeed has “sole discretion.”

It’s not like epic didn’t breach the contract. End of.

epic going on to criticize apple is a smokescreen. Being critical doesn’t award you what you lost due to illegal activity.

Epic violated their contract and paid the price. Inciting a mob doesn’t change that. Epic can be mad, but only at themselves. Shameful really.

Goodbye epic. Good luck on your own.
