  • Courts say AI training on copyrighted material is legal

Horrible decisions. Hopefully it reaches the SC and we get a sane precedent.

Plagiarism is plagiarism no matter if it’s human or AI.

  • All-screen iPhone without notch won't come until 2030

Don’t see a punch hole. Just looks so basic and already done. Apple loves the pill shape.

I can see total notch delete, but with the pill cutout for the ear speaker still in its current location, with miniaturized Face ID elements in that same tiny enclosure, aided by ai.

To offset the tiny bit of pixel loss, Apple may allow the screen to blend slightly into the side corners of the device to provide some bite to an “all screen” marketing hook

this will also allow a justifiable origin point for a new Dynamic Island.

The point is, that some on this forum have been attacking the president for @lying” about the phone, when in fact, up to this point? He’s said nothing. That is a false claim.
    Again:

    https://www.trump.com/media/trump-mobile-launches-a-bold-new-wireless-service

“Trump Mobile is also excited to announce it will release the “T1 Phone” in August. It is a sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States”

That is a lie. It’s on Trump.com — which, I must assume, is the current president’s commercial website.
You said president Trump made that quote. He did not. Period.

That is the website of the trump organization which was handed off to his kids years ago.

Ah, I wasn’t aware. Yep, he still owns it, but his kids are running it since 2017. Okay. Fair point.
Notably this is not a blind trust. The president is free to ask questions and give direction as his sons “run” the company that he still owns and profits from.
I can't even fathom how deep someone has to be into the MAGA cult to claim that the convicted felon has no knowledge of the very organization that he's running. I feel bad for the American people in general for being raped (literally in some cases) by this convict, but I don't feel bad for the enablers that both support him on the top end or the idiots on the bottom end, which are the oddly the loudest voices that prop him him as some sort of deity.
No one made that claim. Another straw man. In my family, we are all in different businesses. When we get together we catch up. No doubt the Trump family does at least that - like any other human beings.

That wasn’t the issue. It has been claimed that President Trump was involved in the venture, even claiming that he made marketing statements on its behalf. Simply not true. Don’t know how deep you have to go into the hater club to pretend people don’t act like people or put words into their mouths to pretend to have something against them.

  • macOS Tahoe review -- glossy changes mask genuine improvements

Personally I love the monochrome dock idea. Glad they went the extra mile.

If there is any legibility issue, I’ll mske my own wallpaper to address it.

At first I was concerned about to new look. Artist concepts looked like a backward step into skeuomorphism and Gave me flashbacks to windows vista.

But this isn’t that. There is definitely skeuomorphism going on but it’s blended pretty well with flat elements. Not a fan of some of the 2007 era icons in some finder views though.

Whichever way Tr*mp won, whether the systematic disenfranchisement of non-Republican voters is legitimate or not:

We learn here that Tr*mp supporters are apparently fine with him just outright lying about the phone being "made in America".

    Noted.
Where did “he” (President Donald J Trump) say that? Cite your source.
You’re trying once again to claim that Donald Trump has nothing to do with this, which is bullsh*t. You know it, and certainly everyone else here knows it.

Plausible deniability actually has to be plausible. Pretending it is when it isn’t is just an embarrassingly transparent lie.
Incorrect. Spherical made the claim that president trump was lying about the trump mobile phone. It’s a false claim. The president hasn’t said anything about it. So he couldn’t be lying about it. And you are merely guessing/hoping DJT is involved. Try to keep up.
Ha, funny how you are very concerned about false claims unless it is you that is making them. You claimed Trump won the majority of the country, and when confronted with the fact that he didn’t, you doubled down and created a new definition of the word majority. Then, when corrected, complete with dictionary citation, you didn't have the integrity to acknowledge a mistake and instead you just fled the conversation. Not surprising, if anything typified Trump and his cult it is cowardice. You have zero credibility when it comes to lecturing others. Try to keep up.
incorrect. I said "majority." Not majority of the country. I assumed anyone with a brain knew the context meant majority of voters (who cared enough to show up) in a 3 way split. As in majority compared to the Democrat nominee and majority compared to the Independent candidates. Can't be a false claim just because someone's doesn't understand context..

Trump was elected president by a majority vote. It was comprehensive, encompassing both the popular and electoral vote. You may not like it, just like much of the country did not like the previous admin.  But it is what it is.

But apparently you are cool with people like Sph*ric  attributing statements to people who never said them so long as it fits your narrative, so...

To recap, Trump Mobile is a thing. It was announced and was brought into being by the family of the president who run an organization that he handed off to them years ago. It is unfortunately a bit cringe in execution if a decent idea. The phone itself is mid at best. AI thinks it is a reskinned REVVL, Engadget disagrees and thinks it's something else which more closely aligns with the body style. The marketing and design is horrible. The service quality will be as good as Liberty Mobile I suppose. And Donald J Trump has said exactly nothing (publicly) about this venture.
You are much like your hero, in that you think that by repeating a false statement, you make it true. It’s still a lie. The Oxford dictionary defines majority: “▪ US English the number by which votes for one candidate are more than those for all other candidates together.” No matter how many times you say he did, Donald Trump did not win a majority of votes cast for President in the 2024 election. He has never won a majority of votes cast in any presidential election.

You also keep claiming Trump’s public silence on his phone grift means he has nothing to do with it. We all know that’s not true. At some point, he will say something about it, and you’ll pretend you never made this argument while you scramble for a new ridiculous twisted logic to claim this is all ok.
Not my hero, but certainly someone I agree with and support on many issues,

Of course he will say something about it. And of course it will be positive. His kids are pushing it. What’s he supposed to do? Haye on a venture his kids are doing with the organization? Be real man.

He will no doubt be questioned by cnn or nbc or whoever and he will answer. That’s how things are done.

Oh no! Him then speaking on it is somehow bad? LOL GET A GRIP.

The point is, that some on this forum have been attacking the president for @lying” about the phone, when in fact, up to this point? He’s said nothing. That is a false claim.

I may not be a master of tax brackets, but the reality still hits annd the net pay wasnt a marked increase.  And even if I made an error in understanding, that’s clearly a mistake or understsnding. Much different than something so purposely deceptive as you or spheric putting words in someone’s mouth who never said them, just to pretend to have a point.
What’s he supposed to do? I told you that already. Put the presidency above personal interest and condemn the whole thing. Tell his kids to stop profiteering on the Office of the President.

Remember that time when conservative media went all-in to condemn Barack Obama for wearing a tan suit, because it was supposedly beneath the dignity of the office? This is way worse than wearing a tan suit.

The fact that you can, within the same thread here, acknowledge that the whole Trump mobile and Trump phone thing is tacky and in poor taste, and pretend with all your might that the president has nothing to do with it, but then have zero expectations that he should ever object to it, either? That says a lot about your values. The mental gymnastics it takes to run that obstacle course of cognitive dissonance is really something.

Your last paragraph about “master of tax brackets” is incomprehensible. All I can say is that maybe you should consider putting the proverbial kool aid down, go outside, get some fresh air and think about what you really value in life.
The only people pretending here are you and Pericak pretending the president said something he didn’t in order to msnufacturers yet another reason to hate on the guy. His kids run the Rrump organization. It’s theirs now. They went with this cringe idea. So be it. Who knows-they may even get a decent customer base. Good luck to them. The problem with your take is you don’t see different things. You see only one - the Trump Name. And therefore it’s all bad somehow. There is trump. I think he is good for the nation. You disagree. So be it. Then there is the trump organization run by his kids. It’s America. His kids are allowed to run the business and find ways to expand. Also a good thing for them and any American who wants to go for it. Then there is the Trump Mobile service - also run by the kids as a means of expanding their business. Also a good thing to do - but unfortunately, it’s done very poorly. From its marketing, which is at least a bit disingenuous, to the phone itself, which is a piece of junk these days, to the graphic design which looks like they hired the same 5 year olds doing the marketing design for the new Superman movie. The fact that it’s Liberty Mobile, but they don’t say it outright is not good. Overrall, it seems more embarassing than helpful. But to take a poor execution of one business offering by an organization now run by his kids and use that as a weapon against the president himself, even making up lies that he himself is promoting this or attributing marring quotes to him is insane. You may not like they guy. And his family may have introduced some cringe product and service partnership through their busines.  but that doesn’t equate  to what you are pretending. Don’t worry though. Soon enough we will see some politician pushing for some punishment because the guy has kids who run a business and they did a business thing with that business.
