    I deleted a comment because it was going to become the talking point of this thread and create an argument around it. We're not going to tolerate posts that suggest there's an "invasion" or violent riots in LA. Take the propaganda elsewhere.

    Actions of a few individuals capitalizing on chaos to loot are not the problem. Illegal actions by the United States President against protesting citizens is the problem. Going after people working at Home Depot or attending court about their impending citizenship is the problem. Zip tying children and hiding your badge while performing inhumane actions is the problem.

    Suggesting otherwise is not only offensive and stupid, it's off topic. So unless you're here to talk about Apple boarding up an Apple Store after a looting, keep it to yourself.
    Moderation is to keep things in order, not to try to manipulate a viewpoint and silence other views. If you are going to push the "CNN." 'CBS," and "ABC" talking points, then you should have the "Fox," 'Sky", and "BBC" talking points to balance. Otherwise you continue to turn this place into a leftists echo chamber.  unbelievable.

    It wasn’t Ive on his own. Apple wanted to go all in on USB C and backed out after it wasn’t well received on the laptops. That’s not on Ive. Also the keyboards were a hardware team failure. The thin laptop wasn’t too much. But Intel failed their roadmap and so the chassis was not the best fit. It’s was a perfect storm. And Its not like pushing the envelope is a bad thing. That’s what jobs was all about. But at the particular moment in time, all of Apple did not act as one smooth operation. It was a company wide issue. 

    To pretend that one product destroys a legend’s legacy when it wasn’t entirely on him to begin with is just stupidity. Look at the iMac. The iPod. The iPhone. The watch. The iPad. iOS 7 (the definition of restraint while reinventing the entire UI - which was being labeled “outdated” by pretty much everyone - until Ive saved the day yet again - and ignited a global design shift) and up. The MacBook pros he designed set the standard for all laptops - since the aluminum PowerBooks. The new ones still very similar to  that. Ive was incredible with his restraint. The guy mastered revolution combined with restraint and in so doing, hit home run after grand slam, etc. absolute savage. Henke and Dye have been wise to emulate Jonny’s style and iterate upon it. It’s a perfect foundation. 

    The man deserves his props and then some. That doesn’t go away because Apple as a company couldn’t get it together at one time in history. Apple would be better off if they had Ive today. But alas, he did well to train up an amazing team who could take up the reigns and thrive in their own right.

    The UI screenshots going round look terrible.  A lot of work needed to tone this mess down.

    Why would I want to be able to see through my controls?!  The entire idea is stupid.  There had better be a system wide "turn off transparency" option.



    Yep, it some places, it just doesn't make sense. A significant backward step in usability in certain areas. But they'll tweak before relaease and in subsequent updates to get it just right. A stronger overlay in Control Center for example, and a more robust blur application. The video player controls are iffy too. I think Apple wanted to make a splash since all their stuff gets copied to death and even Adnroid is looking like iOS these days. Restraint is where Ive shined and something Dye must learn a bit more of on his own journey. I think he will get there. But this overall is a nice look. Just needs to be tweeked and reeled in.

    With Liquid Glass, the context defines the available functions.
    Quite novel to me.
    Nah. It's 100% Aqua. Glass buttons and everything Just updated for 2025, with some additions. It is a much more advacned version of Aqua, but definitely took its DNA from there.

    I bet we see the return of some cool features like the light pulse of the affirmative confirmation button, sleep commands, etc. They have been missing for too long.
