  • Apple working on M6 & M7 chips alongside new AI server processor

No need for a MacBook Pro redesign. It’s pretty much perfect in its most recent form.
The current form is terrible with the unnecessary notch.  In an Enterprise environment with lots of required software that runs in the menu bar, icons are constantly hidden by the notch and users don't know what to do to find and move the icons.
As Wesley said, there are ways around a cluttered menu bar. But I was talking about the laptop redesign. Not a screen. Apple could do something different with the display without having to redesign the entire laptop. Likewise, they could keep the notch without issue. It’s a great design currently and is timeless, much like Porsche automobiles. Once you hit prrr ruin, uou don’t change just to change.

    Don’t be evil, Apple.

As for us users, take the effort to buy your subscriptions outside the app where possible and you’ll likely pay less.  A small bit of effort but it goes a long way when you add up the savings over time.
Fantastic idea… and then you can use all that money saved to continue paying for the subscription after the point you want to cancel it as there is no easy way to unsubscribe. Or their weak card processing system gets hacked and you lose all your financial details.
You and I agree, but many people (e.g., "s.metcalf") want to force business models on us that we don't want to deal with. If I wanted to deal with Google's model, I would buy phones that run Google software. I want the freedom to be able to choose Apple's model. If Apple is forced to follow Google's horrible model, there would be little reason for me to buy from Apple.
This. Any company in a competitive field survives snd succeeds based on its differentiators. These unfair attacks are all aimed at destroying apples successful differentiators, artificially “taking them down a notch or ten.”

  • Apple smart glasses rumored to arrive as soon as Christmas 2026

I can see 2026. Apple was working on this in tandem with the headset. No way they stopped working on it.

Any rumors like “Apple drops development of smart shades,” etc. is more than likely part of the notorious Apple misinformation machine meant to throw the competition off track.

If anyone can make an amazing pair of XR glasses/sunglasses, it’s Apple.

  • Apple's Eddy Cue is guessing that the iPhone will eventually be replaced by AI

    No thanks.

In such a situation, Whoever controls the Ai controls your life in that case.

I’ll do it the Neanderthal way and let everyone else hand the keys to a government or company.

  • How Steve Jobs saved Apple with the iMac 27 years ago

The iMac G4 was the best design with the fully adjustable display.  And no, they did not break.

It was an amazing design for its day. Nowadays, I think it looks quite unattractive, but there is no bearing the usefulness of that arm. I don’t know where that other guy is coming from since you weren’t talking about hard drives or DIY repair, but it was a tour de force in design and reliability at the time.

Today, the Pro Display XDR and studio display with tilt and height adjustable stand do a pretty good job of recapturibgvsome of that engineering wow factor while looking unbeatable in terms of aesthetics
