  • Microsoft lets new Word Flow keyboard loose on the App Store with one-handed mode

I don't know if it is the key spacing or just the fluidness of the the original keyboard but I mistype / miss keys far more on third party keyboards than the original. This one included.

  • DOJ withdraws motion to force Apple to unlock NYC iPhone [u]

  • FBI paid over $1.34M for hack into San Bernardino iPhone, agency's director says

$1M, $2M $10Millions, what's a difference ? All our tax dollars. FBI don't have to go earn them. If they can protect us better than all worth it.
But they obviously can't protect us better. The number one function of our society is not crime (terrorism) prevention. $1.4M in tax payer money could be used for many different things much more beneficial to society than to try to one up someone in a pissing contest.

  • Walmart Pay begins trickling out to iPhone users via app update

Seems like Android users would have been their target audience. I have made it a point not shop at retailers that deliberately refuse to support Apple Pay. Slow adoption is one thing but outright blocking it is an entirely different beast. 8 months a go I ran into Target to buy an extension cord. I had left my wallet in the car but feeling that Target was upscale and being totally oblivious to their participation in CurrentC I got in line anyway figuring Apple Pay would work. Embarrassingly it didn't work and from that day forward I decided to give all my business to Amazon.

  • FBI has yet to find actionable intel from breached San Bernardino iPhone, report says

Let's say for shits and giggles that the FBI did pull valuable information and was able to prevent another attack, would anyone opinion about the unlocking or the FBI be any different? Would any of you have changed your mind about Apple's stance? Of course not, you would just find something complain about so why is this still being talked about...nothing, absolutely nothing would make anyone feel any different, you people just need something to complain and be mad about...
Since the FBI was able to extract the intel from the phone without Apple's assistance, I would argue the FBI acted irresponsibly by trying to set a precedent instead of actually extracting the data from the phone. If your house is on fire call 911, break out the garden hose, form a bucket brigade, at the very least do something... but suing city hall first because a fire hydrant is too far from your house is not going to save your home.
