  • After Apple's HomePod delay, Amazon touts budget Echo Dot as best selling Black Friday pur...

"I expect Amazon to release an "Alexa" phone a some point in the next two years.   Expect it to be a forked android.   Maybe free with advertising.   Bezos is a tougher competitor than google.   Amazon has to keep growing and cell phones could be the next market to enter."
You know they already tried that with the Fire Phone with their Fire OS (forked Android) back in 2014, right? And that Amazon had to take a $170 million write-down? That's not to say that Amazon couldn't/wouldn't release a new phone, but their first one was a big loss and had no subsequent follow-up within the last 3.5 years. Now, I do think Amazon could be looking at a second run in mobile at some point because they do seem to be putting a lot into the Alexa/Echo line. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't after the flop of the Fire Phone.

  • Gresso adorns iPhone 7 with gold, titanium & black diamonds for $500,000

Good grief, why spend all that money to simply make your iPhone look like that when you can do the same with a tacky case? However, the black earpods are legit, other than the diamonds/gold added on. I do kinda hope Apple releases them in black as well.

  • Apple Watch with built-in cellular data unlikely to arrive this year - report

The cellular connection is coming eventually and I'm in no rush for it. Considering how young the smartwatch market is, there's no need to push out a half-baked device just because some people want cellular "RIGHT NOW!" I like that they're adding GPS and (I believe) a barometer and that the focus is fitness. I think working on the health and fitness angle and increasing the biometric sensors/data is the prudent route to go, whereas the cellular will be added when it won't totally kill the battery.

  • Review: Apple's 4" iPhone SE is better than we deserve

Really wish Apple would get rid of the 16 GB device in order to up sell consumers and just have it as an option for Businesses. With 4K Video and Live Photos, 16 GB gets gobbled up in no time and compromises the user experience. I feel that 64 GB needs to become the intro level as the actual price difference between 16 & 64 is negligible. Can stuff be stored on the cloud, sure, but that's not always convenient if WiFi is not accessible.
