Apple supplier Corning working on foldable glass for future phones
I could see a two piece glass folding phone where the two pieces open to touch without a bezel between them to give a larger screen in a smaller footprint. This would alleviate the issues with trying develop adequate folding glass or using plastic and still allow for the benefits of a folding screen. I see a razor type phone (different dimensions obviously) opening to form a combined large screen that via software operates as one.
BTW I'm not talking about a combined phone/iPad but a larger phone in smaller footprint. -

Foldable iPhone heating system could prevent damage in cold weather
I could see two hard screens with (or virtually no) border between them in a flip style phone being of some limited use. Opening would bring the two together and give you more screen but in a smaller footprint that could fit in a pocket when closed. Thinking like a razor style phone with two hard screens one on the base and one on the fold up part. No flexible or delicate screen to damage
On the topic the Huawei folding phone seems like a disaster waiting to happen. The most delicate part of the phone is in the most vulnerable place. -

Editorial: Apple's waiting game on foldable iPhones is no surprise
Latko said:With a Steve type, Apple would have started years ago and now crush the competition with the best foldable solution on the planet.
With a Tim type, Apple will do some vague announcement and accomplish nothing (not willing to put the iPad at risk)
Keep milking the iPad mini form factor...
