While not ideal, the iPad mini is such a great size a good internals update would be enough. Provided they don't try and charge too much. 

Shipping with a 5W charger, same as iPhone first gen when Apple clearly says you can use the iPad higher watt charger without issue is the kind of thing that makes people despise Apple. It's cheap and in a $1500 phone inexcusable. Wireless charging is okay but inferior in many respects to wired. You can't talk on a phone (non speaker) on a wireless pad.

Absurd whining? These are Apple's words. Their claims and statements. Unless the average human hand has grown significantly in the last few years how is what they said incorrect today? Mind you, I like the X / XS sized phone but his statement in that presentation is as true today as it was then.

That was a very different situation. This is not analysts only but actual numbers and facts on the ground. Wechat being the app most spend most of their phone time on makes Apple's iOS ecosystem much less of a lure. Given that spending hundreds less for a phone with a great screen etc that you use the same app the same way for is very hard to overcome. 

Apple needs to innovate a new business model. No not a bunch of cheap junk in a race to the bottom. However, if they wanted to increase their reliance on services from revenue that requires more devices in people's hands. In the US and Europe not a big deal add even older iPhones use services. In China and the like that's not the case. I don't know the answer, again I'm not advocating Apple making $300 phones. However, given than within the last 4 years their flagship was $700 they should be able to do something in that price range again.
