  • Samsung issues global recall of Galaxy Note 7, replacement program announced

    What would Apple do?

Deny, deny, dey. State that it only affect 0.000001% of products.

    "Your charging it wrong".

A recall on your flagship? An unthinkable prospect from Apple. That's a fact.

Apple began replacing bent phones immediately.  Take a hike, troll.
How long did it take Apple to admit a problem with the 2011 MacBooks and issue an official repair protocol? A long time and a lawsuit.  Sorry, I love Apple products but when it comes to recalls and admitting a problem they are very bad in that category. And yes the iPhone 4 antenna thing was BS from the get go.

  • Apple's iPad an effective sedative for children about to undergo surgery, study finds

Red herring this has nothing to do with it being a iPad. Any screen device with similar capabilities will do the same things

  • Purported 'iPhone 7 Plus' packaging shows Lightning to Headphone Jack Adapter in box, 256GB storage

I think this is going to bomb big time. Non techies don't care about processor specs etc they care about ease of use. With no new design ( doesn't bother me but will many ) and no major new features the talk for the vast majority of users will be around the major inconvenience of their headphones not working with this and/or having to remember, carry and possibly buy dongles to carry around. The main feature of this new iPhone, if what we know is true will be a removal if something the vast majority of people use.  Not a good talking point.

I wonder if Apple needs to get rid of it for next year's major redesign and has decided to take the heat and lower sales this year so it doesn't detract from next year's phone.

  • Watch: Apple Lightning EarPods for 'iPhone 7' supposedly appear in new video

Here's something no one seems to be discussing. The lightning port is far more delicate than the 3.5 jack. The more delicate port will now have to support both charging and headphones. Many people have had issues where the headphones or phone catches on something and breaks the jack etc. When that happens you have a fully functional phone except for the earphones. If this happens with lightning headphones you've just broken your ONLY port. No more charging, no more syncing nothing till you can get it fixed. You will now have a very expensive brick until it can be fixe. That's a big negative to me.
