This forum has become quite toxic I don't know when it was that to like Apple products means to mindlessly love Apple the megacorp and equally hating Google the megacorp , it's like Apple fans have become what Samsung fans were 6-8 yrs ago, . But that Apple/Google pic is unsettling though, could there be a more oddball coupling, why didn't they use the G logo ? This is unbalanced & seriously bad touching me all over

The quality and UI experience is SO much better than Google maps. Especially the transitions. 

That may be true, but street view is in 220 countries and territories, by the time Apple gets to that number "BAD GOOG" could have done pretty transitions on all 220 regions 3x over.

 You would think with Google's lead Apple's first job to be done  would be getting its map to global coverage and parity as soon as possible and pretty transions last, but then if they can make a lesser product seem superior I guess job well done ?  

So here is an idea thats been percolating in my mind since June, what if the ARM macbooks that are coming wont be mac books at all but "iPad Books". Picture - iPad Book & iPad Book Pro, running on the world's most advance & capable mobile operating systeam iPad OS.

This naming scheme perfectly frames in the mind of the customer what such a device can and cannot do, "its powerfull, but not as powerful as a mac" its capable yet light and agile, sleak ellegent and very portable, an Apple chrome book for when an Air is too big and an iPad Pro is too un-ergonomic.

The only stubling block i see would be that cursed cursor I'm not sure that circle thing Apple is doing is optimum, what do you guys think ?

Same here, but if this is the new direction with the glass I think it would have been cooler if it was a theme across all stores in "the new town square design language" instead of a special 5th Ave thing.

I think it speakers to the different way Apple And Google see software and AI in particular, take their respective approach to AR. This is what Apple thinks matters (hardware and UI power)
