  • Inside watchOS 3: Apple Watch gets more familiar with dedicated dock button

So with the side button, it's one click for Dock, two clicks for Apple Pay & press and hold for SOS, correct? Where's the Lock and Power menu going then? Relegated to Settings I guess? Just curious.

    ---

Yes, press and hold the side button to call 911.  The way it works is it brings up this screen and counts down three seconds before calling.  Any time during those three seconds if you tap anywhere on the display, it halts the emergency Call process, which you may swipe the item to resume.  Leaving you with the Power Off and Medical ID options.  I sure hope there aren't a lot of unintentional calls to emergency services by those just trying to power down their watch.

To add, in the Watch app on iPhone, go to Settings and then look for Emergency SOS. In that sub-menu, you can disable "Hold to Auto Call." Doing this, when you hold down the side button, Apple Watch will not automatically dial 911 (or whichever emergency number your country uses). Instead, it brings up the screenshot here where you can power off the Watch.

  • Inside iOS 10: Apple Maps will remember where you parked your car

The question I have: is it completely automatic anytime you park, or as it implies, does it only happen if you're ending a trip using maps to navigate a route?
The article actually says, "...will remember a vehicle's location at the end of of a trip."  So my interpretation is any trip, like to the store or work.
Another article I read yesterday state it happens only when you are using CarPlay or when your iPhone is connected via Bluetooth to your vehicle. I was using CarPlay yesterday and I was NOT using navigation to get to work...but upon parking, the iPhone turned to Apple Maps and showed me a dropped pin of where I parked.

  • Failed iOS 10 installs force users to plug into iTunes for restoration of 'bricked' device [u]

PS - I'm betting that no one has the blue bubble that Apple shows on new iPhone 7/7 Plus on its website. I was hoping that was a new Live Wallpaper, but upon updating to iOS 10, There are barely any new wallpapers, and no new live ones. Do you think this is exclusive to the 7 model year? Why, if so? 6S and 7 both have 3D Touch capability...

Both my iPhone 6S and my iPad Pro crashed; I plugged in both and updated them back to 9.3.5. On the 2nd attempt of iPad Pro, it successfully installed 10 without issue. Perhaps this is just a temporary issue -- trials of launch day, eh?
