Ill-informed YouTuber bemoans Apple repair policies after breaking iMac Pro

How is it possible all the parts listed are actually damaged?
Did it get hit by lightning? It sounds like Apple didn’t have the parts or experience to make the repairs.
Is the damage Apple’s fault? Obviously not. But the Apple Store should be able to send it somewhere to get fixed, and not for $5000+.
This story is embarrassing for Apple...
So two things. The third-party repair shop lied to get out of doing the repair because the repair certification has been available since before they asked, and the parts that were needed were available about a month or two after they went in to inquire about it. It sometimes takes a bit after launch for parts to make their way through the system and made available to stores and third-party repair shops.
If they went in with the Pro today, chances are it would be able to be repaired. But remember, at this point, the only thing that is left without needing repair is basically a shell, some ram, and the SSD. The rest is shot and needing to be replaced. It would have been cheaper to buy a new one.
The video is really just clickbait and hammed up for the camera.
If you buy a Pro machine, everything should be able to be swapped out: the CPU, GPU, drive, ram, etc. (no the CPU probably isn’t upgradable for a reasonable amount).
The “can’t be upgraded” bit them in the ass. This is a poor design for a Pro machine. -

Apple Business Chat in iOS 11.3 takes on social media in privacy, sophistication
This is very interesting.
Example:
A customer chats to McDonald’s “Are your hamburger patties frozen?”
At the other end sits a person in support. AI parses the text, used location data and accesses the Knowledge Base, and displays high probability answers. The support person selects the best answer, drags it to the Chat to reply. (Typing nothing).
The answer might look like: In most locations Mcdonalds uses frozen patties. However one of the two locations near you has switched to non frozen patties.
Would you like directions to that location?
Etc.
This could be very powerful, reduce costs, be more effective, and result in happier customers.
I can see a 411 type service also implemented.
For Example: I’m looking for a burger place that serves fresh patties. (Basically Siri, but using chat) -

T-Mobile aims to one-up other US carriers with 5G in 30 cities by end of 2018

Take the “bar” rating with a grain of salt. Sprint’s Network is crap regardless of what they tell you. When usage is high in an area, the network crashes.
Sprint’s support and billing is the worst I’ve ever seen anywhere (over any industry). Their marketing is bate and switch (quoted one price, billed another). When I tried Sprint my actual bill was higher than T-Mobile.
My speed test with T-Mobile right now at peak hours is 28Mbps. I’ve tested as high as 75Mbps, with an average of ~50Mbps. My lowest test out of ~25 spanning 3 months was 20Mbps. (I stopped checking after that).
