  • Hidden AirTags crucial in Singapore recycling failure investigation

How stupid is this? The best way of recycling is continuing to use the product. I would not care if in The neighborhood or another country, if „stolen“, for free or sold (after all it takes work to sort, clean, repair and transport.
i hope they continue and even widen the approach of using rather than dissecting.
The main “failure“ is to call continued use a „failure“ in recycling.

  • EU pressing on with USB-C charger legislation on Thursday

This makes no sense. Technology changes. Last time it was micro USB. Does this mean when such a legislation is passt does this mean there can never be a new technology? I mean someone needs to be the first to use the new standard would that company break the law?

  • Apple's previous photo print partner Motif adds canvas as a material

The best replacement for the old option is “friedmann print” it’s the only one that fully feels “Mac”

  • Intel details Thunderbolt 4 spec, but 'Apple silicon' support is unclear [u]

Why would Apple not support it? On WWDC Videos we could already see the 6K monitors which people assumed was due to USB4 support - as USB-C + Thunderbolt makes little sense going forward and would not explain why they are missing in the Dev Kits. However Thunderbolt 4 is just USB 4 with a few options being forced. No new speed, nothing and honestly not deserving the name but good for us, weight get thinderbolt „4“ without the license fee :)

i feel more like since thunderbolt was a joint venture with intel holding the license we now understand why it became free into USB 4 I bet that’s Apples doing.

  • Apple's AirPort base stations are gone, and we wish they weren't

I am seriously worried this is the end of AirPlay.
I know this is not Apples intention, but I think they did not consider that this is the major AirPlay device besides Apple TV but that is limited to screens. I know many people that like me have music in every room via AirPlay, now that one has too look for a new roaming router (and has to replace the whole network as others are not compatible) AirPlay will disappear from homes and be replaced with something.
The end should have come when Apples replacement Linksys or others already offer mesh + AirPlay or at least after AirPlay 2 is working well in most devices or at least when HomePod is spread enough or at least is working well enough.

It simply came at the worst possible moment!
